History Making Inaugural Chinese American Convention to Kick off on Sept. 8

Boston, July 23, 2016, — The Inaugural Chinese American Convention organized by United Chinese Americans (UCA) will be held in Washington DC from Setp. 8 to 10. The theme of the convertion is “Sharing Vision, Uniting Communities!”

“Inaugural Chinese American Convention will be kicked off with an evening reception on Capital Hill on Sept. 8. Dozens members of Congress will attend the reception. Chinese American elected officials, including Boston City Council President Michelle Wu, are invited to speak at the conversion, ” said Haipei Xue, co-chair of the convention, during a recent visit to Bosotn.

Over the past year, Mr. Xue has traveled by train to 36 states to meet with Chinese American leaders around the country, and received strong support for the Inaugural Chinese American Convention. He expressed appreciation for supporters in the Boston area, including elected Chinese American officials such as State Rep. Donald Wong and Tackey Chan, Boston City Council President Michelle Wu, Cambridge City Councilor Leland Cheung and Quincy City Councilor Nina Liang.
