Acupuncture Day Held at the Massachusetts State House

Boston, Nov 26, 2016, — The Acupuncture Day event was held at Nurse’s Hall at the State House on Beacon Hill today. Dozens of govenment officials, acupuncturists, patients and members of the Massachusetts Society of Chinese Medicine (MSCM) attended this event.

Boston City Council has declared that October 24 as Boston’s Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day (AOM Day). This year’s Acupuncture Day event provided acupuncturists an opportunity to network with colleagues and meet legislators. Mini auricular treatments were offered at the event.

As Michael Phelps and members of the US swimming team demonstrated at Rio Olympics, Chinese medicine played an important role in helping them bring back gold medals. Organizers of this event hoped that more people would understand the importance of Acupuncture within the healthcare system.


“We had a great event in State House to promote Acupuncture in Massachusetts. Thank you very much for your support! Specially thanks to those who took time from busy practice to make it! We are planning to have another one next year,” said John Zhang, president of Massachusetts Society of Chinese Medicine.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine Forum was held at McLean Hospital of Harvard Medical School on Oct. 23. A delegation from Hubei Province, China attended forum. Dr. Kai Huang, Vice President of Wuhan Union Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, spoke about the rapid growth in traditional Chinese medicine treatments at the 150-year-old hospital in Wuhan, China.
