Season’s Greetings from the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement!

Dec. 23, 2016

On behalf of the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement, we would like to wish everyone a holiday season filled with joy and peace. This has been a difficult year for our communities and we are committed as a Department and as a City Government to continue to protect, support, and engage our immigrant residents. Boston’s past and future are inextricably linked to the immigrants that come, generation after generation, to fulfill their dreams and make our city thrive.

Mayor Walsh and director Alejandra St. Guillen presented the “We Are Boston Leadership Award” to Cruz Companies CEO John Cruz, III (middle).

In 2016 we accomplished a great deal with your support. From hosting large scale legal clinics, to establishing Immigrant Information Corners in every Boston Public Library branch, to passing the City’s first Communications Access Ordinance, we were able to push forward institutional initiatives while also responding to the rapidly shifting political environment. As we enter 2017, we are heartened by our Mayor’s strong support of our communities and our work, and are prepared to take on the challenges and opportunities that each new year brings. We are deeply grateful for the work you do to make sure our immigrant and newcomer communities are an integral part of this city’s fabric.

We look forward to working with you in the new year!

All the best to you,

Adelina, Agnes, Alejandra, An, Carol, Celina, Courtney & Mayra
Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement
