Chau-ming Lee, Long-time Immigrant Advocate, Dies at 65

Boston, June 8, 2017, — Just as Asian American Civic Association(AACA) is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary on June 9, Chau-ming Lee, the long-time executive director of AACA, passed away on June 6. Mr. Lee has dedicated his life to server the immigrant communities in the greater Boston area.


Chau-ming Lee had been the Executive Director of the Asian American Civic Association since 1982. A graduate from the University of Hong Kong, Chau-ming Lee was a mayoral appointed member of the Boston Private Industry Council, a public-private partnership to create innovative workforce and education solutions for the City of Boston.

Mr. Lee, 65, was beloved husband of Eleanor Lee, and devoted father of Rachel Lee and husband Travis Otten, Renee Lee and husband Justin Allen, Alyssa Lee, and loving grandfather of Logan Lee Otten, Connor Lee Allen.

Visitation on Monday, June 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. at Boston Harborside Home of JS Waterman-Waring-Langone, 580 Commercial St., Boston.
