The August Moon Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most celebrated Chinese holidays. It is held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. Chinese families celebrate the end of the harvest season with a big feast, such as the delicious moon cakes.

Mr. Klysler Yen, board member of AAAB, handed out posters of the Fifth Asian American Day, to be held on Spet. 20 at Burlington Marriott Hotel to visors. The annual festival will feature exhibition and lectures in the afternoon, and dinner and art performances in the evening. According to Jing Xu, Executive Director of 2015 ATV Miss Asia Pageant Boston, the contestants have stuck together in the summer in vigorous physical training and catwalk simulation. They also actively participated in community activities. Some of the activities included nursing home visits, drama performances, and performance at the August Moon Festival. One of the most memorable experiences is the three-day volunteer work at Acadia National Park in Maine. In these training and activities, the contestants demonstrated their beauty from the inside out, and received generous praises from the public. This reflects the theme of this year’s competition, “Beauty that Moves the World.”
