Mayor Walsh Offers Holiday Greetings in Boston Chinatown

Boston, Dec. 8, 2015, — Chinatown Main Street(CMS) welcomed Mayor Marty Walsh to Chinatown to offer his greetings and holiday wishes to the Chinatown community on Sunday. Hundreds of residents and vistors enjoyed the festivities and kids took the opportunity to take pictures with the Santa Clause.

To kick off the holiday season and illuminate the Christmas tree, Representative Aaron Michlewitz and Donald Wong, City Council President Bill Linehan, Councilor At-Large Michelle Wu, and Councilor at Large-Elected Annissa Essaibi George, Commissioner of ISD – William Buddy Christopher, Chief of Housing and Director of the Department of Neighborhood Development (DND) – Sheila Dillon, Director of the Office of Neighborhood Services – Jerome Smith, Boston Police Area A-1 Captain Ken Fong, Chinatown Resident Association Treasurer Arturo Gossage attended and enjoy Santa’s greetings that brought holiday cheers and joys to Chinatown Community children and families.


Mayor Marty Walsh also help Chinatown Main Street to unveil the newly designed Street Lamp Pole Banners, to promote local business, tourism and culture. He congratulated Rick Wong for being named the President of Chinatown Main Street.

“The Focal Ladies Choir had a fun day representing Boston Chinatown to sing at the 20th Anniversary of the Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley Tour and Tree Light Up!” wrote Jean Foo, CEO of Focal Chinese Music, on Facebook.
