My three and ten month son just had 8 teeth filled last month. We had this done at Family Dental Group in Marlborough. We originally visited a pediatric dentist in Northborough. The doctor told me he had 8 teeth had cavities. She recommended to go to hospital to do that once. Of course my son will need be put into sleep. I was hesitate for this. Not only because of the fees, but also the risk of putting a 3 year old into sleep. Besides, the fee may ends up $1000 since the dentist charges professional service for getting surgery permission from dental insurance and medical insurance, plus facility charge from hospital, plus my own out of pocket fee that dental insurance not covered. All above reasons made me want to listen 2nd opinion.

After talking with a couple co-workers and friends, they all recommended me to visit Dr. Lee from Family Dental Group. The first time of our visit, my son had 4 teeth filled. He didn’t use any 麻醉和笑气什么的, just clean the cavities then silver filling. Two visits done 8 teeth. I was so happy!!! He saved my money, time, energy, plus that is worry-free. Both doctor and assistant are very patient, and nice. I am extremely happy with their service. And now I switch my whole family’s dental service to Dr. Lee. His office does not have those fancy kids decoration like other pediatric dentists, but his service is very good, honest and patient. He spent many time to explain the service he recommend, but not put you in rush. Plus he has the patient to do toddler tooth filling which many pediatric dentists would put kids in hospital.

So if you have time, and don’t mind drive to Marlborough. You may try him.

Side note, if that is a small kid, you’ll need to talk to your kid frequently regarding the visit. Tell him that he had cavity teeth, he need to get them filled. Otherwise he’ll feel pain in the future. The filling is not pain at all, no need to be afraid of. Before my son had teeth filling. I almost talked to him every day. Give him enough time to prepare and to know what will happen. I am lucky that my son was very cooperated when he was on the chair. He was a little nervous at beginning, but when he knew it is in-deed not pain, he was not much afraid, and sat on the chair w/o moving for 45 minutes. Before I visited Dr. Lee, I though I may need 4 visits to get 8 teeth done. But it ends up only 2 visits. So talk with your kid as much as possible.
