Yingrui’s Biography:

Yinrgui Li is a world-renowned expert in genomics research. He currently serves as the CEO of BGI Tech Solutions, the commercial arm of BGI that provides next generation sequencing and bioinformatics solutions for the scientific community. In the past few years, in his role leading the Science and Technology Department at BGI-Shenzhen and the Bioinformatics Center, Yingrui and his team initiated and engaged in a number of international projects, including Yan Huang Project, 1000 Genome Project, Yan Huang Whole Genome Methylation, Cancer Genome Project, etc. His area of expertise includes algorithms and data structures, computer programming, mathematical statistics, modeling methods, data mining techniques and genomic analysis. BGI achieved international recognition in genomic research field largely due to Yingrui’s commitment and leadership. By far, he has authored and co-authored more than 80 papers published in high-impact journals such as Nature and Science. Yingrui received his B.S. degree from Peking University in 2008. He joined BGI in 2006 when he is a sophomore and worked there ever since.
