Dear GBCCA Hiking Club members:

We welcome the arrival of spring however late this year by planning to have our first outing on 4/20 (Sunday). It should be an easy walk along the Charles River bank. We shall meet on 9:30 at the Boston Common Visitors Information Center on Tremont St (right by the Green Line Park St station). We then walk across the Common to Hatch Shell, stroll along Charles River Reservation and cross Harvard Bridge to MIT campus (there is this beautiful small chapel near the Student Center).

On our way back we can take Commonwealth Ave and if hungry proceed to Chinatown for lunch. The round-trip walking distance is about four miles. If tired, one can hop on Red Line T at Kendall Square returning to Boston. Metered parking is free on Sunday. Because 4/21 (Monday) is Boston Marathon Day, record runners are anticipated to arrive over the weekend. Taking public transportation is recommended.

Wish your whole family can join us.
