经过两天的激烈角逐，各组别的冠军纷纷出炉。实力雄厚的波士顿涨潮队（Rising Tide）凭借出色的团队配合与强悍的扣杀，再次摘得男子组（Men’s AA）冠军信誉。这一场精彩绝伦的体育盛会，不仅展现了华人健儿的卓越竞技水平与顽强斗志，更在烈日下凝聚了社区力量，传承了绵延百年的独特文化遗产。酷暑高温挡不住热血：挥汗如雨诠释团队信任
本届赛事举办期间，恰逢盛夏酷暑天气。在两天的比赛期间，气温一度飙升至华氏九十多度（折合摄氏三十四度以上）。烈日灼灼之下，户外赛场的地面温度极高，给每一位参赛选手的体能、耐力与意志力都带来了极其严酷的考验。
然而，极端的热浪与严酷的环境并未消磨华人排球健儿的蓬勃热血与竞技激情。赛场上，数百名参赛选手顶着烈日挥汗如雨，在每一次发球、救球、拦网与扣杀中都奋勇拼搏、毫不退缩。飞身救球的矫健身姿、网前争锋的强力扣杀，高潮迭起，精彩纷呈。场边围观的社区居民、家属及排球爱好者们更是群情激昂，加油声与惊呼声此起彼伏，现场的热烈气氛如同八月的骄阳一般，一浪高过一浪。九人排球由于场地较大、上场人数众多，相较于常规排球，对球员之间的默契程度和战术配合有着更为苛刻的要求。在两天的赛程中，赛场上不仅呈现了排球运动本身的速度、力量与竞技之美，更完美地诠释了队友之间无条件的信任、精细的分工以及无缝的战术配合。许多球员在赛后坦言，虽然极端的高温让大家体能严重透支，但能与志同道合的队友们并肩作战、为荣誉而战，在沙场上流汗流泪，这种深厚的友谊与强烈的团队凝聚力是任何东西都无法比拟的。
在本届比赛中，除了荣获男子最高级别组（Men’s AA）冠军的波士顿“涨潮”队（Rising Tide）之外，其他组别的争夺同样异常激烈，各队健儿均在比赛中展现了不俗实力：
女子黄金组（Women’s Gold）：冠军由波士顿飓风队（Boston Hurricanes）夺得。

The 2nd Boston Mini 9-man Volleyball Invitational Held in Everett, MA
Boston, Aug. 3, 2026, — In the sweltering heat of August, the passion for sports in the Greater Boston area was ablaze. The 2nd Boston Mini 9-man Volleyball Invitational—co-sponsored by the City of Everett, Massachusetts, and the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) of New England—concluded successfully on August 2 at Everett’s Rivergreen Park. The tournament drew over twenty elite teams and hundreds of skilled players from Greater Boston and East Coast, marking it as one of the largest and most high-profile sporting events in the local Chinese community this summer.
After two days of fierce competition, the formidable “Rising Tide” team once again claimed the men’s division championship, thanks to their outstanding teamwork and powerful spiking. Felix Lui, President, and Hung Goon, English Secretary of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England, stated that this tournament is a superb embodiment of the Chinese community’s fine traditions and sporting spirit. They expressed their deepest gratitude to mayor Robert Van Campen and other political leaders and various sectors of the community for their full support, and warmly encouraged more volleyball enthusiasts in the Greater Boston area to actively participate in the sport in the future.
Several prominent Massachusetts political figures attended the event to watch the matches and present awards to the winning teams, adding a significant level of political interest and warmth to the occasion. In his remarks, Massachusetts State Senator Sal DiDomenico expressed his deep affection for and support of the Chinese community. Representing the City of Everett, he extended warm congratulations to all participating teams and offered special thanks to the sponsors for their tremendous support. Senator DiDomenico also expressed his gratitude to the CCBA for its long-standing role as a cornerstone in uniting the Chinese community and advancing its well-being.
City Councilor Calvin Brown from the neighboring city of Chelsea also attended the event, enthusiastically interacting with players and spectators from the stands. In his speech, Councilor Brown noted that he had watched the thrilling matches from start to finish and was deeply moved by the electric atmosphere and the players’ superb skills. He emphasized the great significance of hosting such a large-scale, inter-city tournament and expressed his sincere appreciation to the organizers and sponsors for their hard work and dedication.The tournament took place during the sweltering heat of midsummer; over the two days of competition, temperatures soared past 90 degrees Fahrenheit (over 34 degrees Celsius). Under the scorching sun, the surface temperature of the outdoor courts was extremely high, posing a grueling test of the players’ physical stamina and willpower.
On the court, hundreds of players sweated profusely, fighting valiantly with every serve, save, block, and spike. Their dynamic saves and fierce net-side spikes drew thunderous applause and enthusiastic cheers from community residents and family members watching from the sidelines, creating waves of excitement that grew ever more intense.

9-man volleyball holds a long and unique place in the history of the Chinese community. The sport originated in the early 20th century in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong (specifically the Taishan and Kaiping areas), Hong Kong, and overseas Chinese communities in Southeast Asia. Characterized by large teams, diverse tactics, and intense, highly entertaining transitions between offense and defense, 9-man volleyball rapidly gained popularity in the villages and towns of Guangdong. It eventually evolved into a unique sporting symbol within Chinese culture.
In the mid-20th century, amidst a new wave of immigration, Chinese people from Guangdong and Hong Kong brought this sport—deeply intertwined with memories of their homeland—to North America. In the Greater Boston area, the history of 9-man volleyball can be clearly traced back to the 1970s and 1980s.
At that time, many new Chinese immigrants settled in Boston’s Chinatown and its surrounding neighborhoods. Amidst the demands of hard work and daily life, playing volleyball became a vital outlet for physical and mental relaxation, a way to soothe homesickness, and a means to strengthen bonds within the community. Makeshift courts—marked with temporary white lines on crowded basketball courts, open spaces outside community halls, or even nearby school playgrounds—became the spirited arenas where the older generation of immigrants played their passionate matches.

《唐人街的校車抗爭，1975》攝影展吸引公衆關注
【本報記者李強波士頓報道】最近訪問波士頓唐人街的游客們會被街牌樓旁的陳毓禮黃麗蓉伉儷公園的一組大照片吸引。這是肯尼迪綠道（Rose Kennedy Greenway）推出的公共藝術與攝影展覽《唐人街的校車抗爭，1975》，透過珍貴歷史影像與當代紀實攝影，重新講述華人社區在1975年校車去種族隔離政策中的集體行動，尤其凸顯華人女性在那場抗爭中所扮演的關鍵角色，為長期被忽略的歷史補上重要篇章。

麻州華人社區緬懷一代宗師胡炳超
【波士頓雙語網2026年2月15日訊】在美國弘揚中華武術逾一甲子的著名武術家胡炳超（Winchell Ping Chiu Woo），於2月3日在麻州因病辭世，享年87歲。消息傳出後，波士頓乃至全美華人社區、武術界同感哀痛，無數弟子與友人以不同方式追思這位一生奉獻於中華武術與文化傳承的一代宗師。胡炳超師傅的葬禮於13日在麻州春田市舉行，親友、學生及各界人士齊聚一堂，向這位德藝雙馨的武術前輩作最後的致敬。
