Boston, Feb. 11, 2015 — The Ivy League Spring Festival Gala was held in the evening of Feb. 7 at John Hancock Hall. Days of heavy snow and cold weather could not stop the audience’s enthusiasm for celebrating Chinese New Year with more than 1,100 seats packed. The show lasted for three hours to bring the audience a visual and auditory feast.

Gov. Charlie Baker and US Senator Elizabeth Warren sent in video greetings to Chinese students. Popular Chinese TV star Fan Bingbing wished Chinese students at Harvard a Happy Year of Goat in a short video message.
Hosted by the Chinese Students and Scholars Associations (CSSA) of the eight Ivy League Universities, the annual Ivy League Spring Festival Gala has enjoyed tremendous successes and supports from members of the Ivy League schools as well as the greater Boston Chinese Community.
Program included traditional and modern Chinese dances from Harvard and Cornell, solos from Dartmouth and Harvard members, remixed by the MIT Syncopasian a Capella group, hip-hop by the famous New York Takala Land Dance Studio, and martial arts from the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China. Traditional Chinese folk arts XiangSheng and XiaoPin (Chinese comedy crosstalk and skit) to drew loud laughter from the crowd. World acclaimed Pipa artist Cong Zhao brought a beautiful classic piece to live.
