Acton, Mass., Feb. 10, 2015, — Snow keeps falling and good news keeps coming for Acton Boxborough students. Team Acton RJ Grey excelled at the Exeter Math Club Competition (EMCC) held recently in Exeter, N.H., and won the team championship.
The team led by Coach Zack Wang is comprised of 4 students from Acton-Boxborough RJ Grey Junior High School: Richard Huang (8th Grader), Ari Xuan (8th Grader), Maxwell Wang(7th Grader) and Aaron Zhang (7th Grader).
Coach Zack Wang was very excited for the achievements by his students, and thanked their hard work and support from the parents.
In 2014,Acton-Boxborough Regional High School was ranked one of the top 10 high schools for STEM education in the nation by US News and World Report. The large number of Asian immigrants working in the high tech companies living in Acton and Boxborough is one of the reasons that STEM education has been in focus by teachers and parents in Acton-Boxborough school district.
EMCC is a middle-school annual math competition held at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. The AB team topped more than 40 teams from across the region and from far-flung places including Ohio and China. Among the participating teams included traditional powerhouses from Lexington.
