Acton, Mass. August 18, 2016, — More than 100 singers, dancers, musicians, and Taiji players will be featured in a performance of traditional Chinese music and dance on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Nara Park Amphitheater in Acton, Massachusetts.
This “3rd Annual Acton Traditional Chinese Music & Dance Night” is presented by the Acton Chinese Language School (ACLS), Acton Recreation Department and will feature the ACLS Pipa class & Acton Sunflower Group, Angel Performing Arts, several local Chinese children and adult traditional folk dance groups, and ACLS Taiji class.
Dance groups performing include the Traditional Chinese Dance Troupe of the Boston iDanceABC group, the ACLS Chinse Dance Club, and the Angel Dance Troupe – all presenting colorful renditions of Chinese folk dancing. Singing group performing is from Melodies, featuring singing traditional Chinese songs. Dragon dance will also be performed to represent traditional Chinese culture.
“Our history and traditions are rich in colorful music and dance, and we are pleased to have this opportunity to present to the local communities who have welcomed us by inviting all the families here in Acton and surrounding towns to join us to share in the beautiful sights and sounds of China,” said Mr. Xianghai Liu, chairman of board directors of the Acton Chinese Language School.
This event is free admission. Food cart will be available to provide Chinese food for purchase. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Acton Boxborough Culture Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Culture Council, a State agency.
