【波士顿双语网讯】为庆祝北京大学116周年校庆暨北大新英格兰校友会成立20周年，北京大学新英格兰校友会将于2014年5月10日在哈佛大学举办年会。北大新英格兰校友会欢迎北大校友和各界朋友出席。

本届年会的主题是“坚守，包容，服务社会”。即将出席年会的VIP来宾包括：
张益唐，1978级数学系校友，新罕布什尔大学数学系教授。
吴弭（Michelle Wu），波士顿市议员。
一年前破解了孪生素数猜想的数学家张益唐教授坚守学术道路三十余年，用默默的行动和惊人的成就诠释着北大精神。他将在年会上接受北京大学校友总会颁发的优秀校友奖章。北京大学优秀校友工作者等奖励也将在大会上颁发。
吴弭是波士顿市首位华裔市议员，也是第一位亚裔女市议员。作为在新英格兰地区投身公共服务的华人，她将结合自己的经历，畅谈华人在美国的发展。

Peking University Distinguished Alumni Award recipient: Yitang Zhang
Yitang Zhang received his B.S. and M.S. from Peking University and his Ph.D. from Purdue University. Since 1999, he has been a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of University of New Hampshire. Recently, he has been appointed a full professor by University of New Hampshire. His research is mainly in the field of analytic number theory, in particular the distribution of prime numbers and the distribution of zeros of the zeta function. He received the 2013 Morningside Special Achievement Award in Mathematics from the International Conference of Chinese Mathematicians, the 2013 Ostrowski Prize, the 2014 Frank Nelson Cole Prize in Number Theory, and the 2014 Rolf Schock Prize in Mathematics.
Keynote Speaker: Michelle Wu
Michelle Wu is an attorney and current Boston City Councilor At-Large in the city of Boston. Michelle Wu obtained her B.A. from Harvard University and received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2012. Councilor Wu worked for Mayor Thomas M. Menino in the Mayor’s Office as a Rappaport Fellow in Law and Public Policy. At City Hall, she created the Restaurant Roadmap guide, which for the first time outlined in one place the city’s restaurant permitting process from start to finish, and was also a driving force to launch Boston’s food truck program. She later served as statewide Constituency Director in the U.S. Senate campaign of her former law professor, Elizabeth Warren. Councilor Wu has a background in community advocacy, providing legal advice to low-income small business owners, as well as working at Boston Medical Center on immigration cases for survivors of domestic violence.
