In September 2013, CIS opened a study center in Hangzhou China that is devoted to delivering a transformational experience to 14-15 year olds (Grade 9) through a year of study (International Baccalaureate) and experiential learning in a residential setting in the middle of the beautiful campus of its partner school, Greentown Yuhua School.

Application to CIS Hangzhou is open to bright, responsible students seeking to make substantial progress in Mandarin while developing qualities of self-reliance, resilience and independence as they become deeply acquainted with life and culture in one of China’s great cultural centers.

The students are in the care of Director Richard Pratt, who moved to CIS Hangzhou following 14 years at Eton College (U.K.), together with his highly dedicated team.
