It’s been a tough winter for people in New England with record amount of snow. However, the Chinese New Year has arrived. Can the Spring be far behind?

The show started with Culture Club kids elaborate dance Little Apple”. Their lovely performances were full of juvenile fun. Their bright red dresses made people feel the booming Chinese New Year of the Goat, and instantly ignited the enthusiasm of the audience.

The performances also included beautiful songs and dances by several Boston-area based professional performing arts groups. Local Rhode Island artists and students also showed off their mastery of traditional Chinese art and instruments.

The Confucius Institute at URI invited many of the performers, including Foremost Art Troupe from Boston. The 15-program spectacle of traditional Chinese music and dance was a wonderful Chinese New Year gift to everyone at URI.
