Boston, Sept. 6, 2016, — One day after Somerville Times announced its endorsement of Cambridge City Councilor Leland Cheung in the State Senate primary over incumbent Sen. Jehlen, bostonese.com, the largest bilingual Asian American news website, announced today that it also endorsed Councilor Cheung in this race.

The following is the announcement form Somerville Times.
“We thought about how the city has changed over the years and how Sen. Jehlen has had few accomplishments. We think Leland Cheung is a better choice to represent the present-day progressives and all of Somerville’s diverse community. We feel he will be committed to our district and will be readily available to all constituents in the district, not just those who supported him.”
In announcing their endorsement of Councilor Cheung, editors of bostonese.com wrote: “When we build the innovation economy of future in Massachusetts, State Senate needs someone like Councilor Cheung who helped make Cambridge one of the most innovative cities in the nation after he was elected Cambridge City Councilor in 2009 while pursuing his MBA degree at MIT Sloan School of Management and MPA degree at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Councilor Cheung has broad knowledge and first-hand experience in the high-tech industry that will become an invaluable asset in the State Senate.”
The primary election for the 2nd Middlesex County State Senate seat will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8 in Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, and Winchester.
