Boston, August 3, 2018, — Mayor Martin Walsh today announced that he will join Boston Police Superintendent in Chief William Gross, who is set to be sworn in as Police Commissioner on Monday, elected officials, community leaders, clery and residents for the 35th Annual National Night Out celebrations in the City of Boston. The events are focused on celebrating and raising awareness of community policing throughout the City.
Tai Tung Village management team received award at last year’s National Night Out event in Chinatown.
On Monday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 7, participants will promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships and neighborhood engagement. National Night Out honors safety and crime prevention successes and works to expand and strengthen programs year round.
Over two nights, the 12 neighborhood events will feature entertainment, food, beverages and award presentations for Crimewatch Group of the Year and a Crimefighter of the Year.
