【波士顿华人双语网综合报道】新泽西理工学院(NJIT)数学系博士后、中国留学生仲兴的死讯在2013年元旦传出之后，在中美两国都引起了极大的震惊。仲兴博士毕业于清华大学，是一位高材生和非常有前景的青年数学家。他的死因目前纽瓦克警方还在调查中，多家媒体报道称有劫杀的可能性，不过校方的声明表示仲兴被发现的现场没有抢劫的证据，他的身上也没有伤口。新泽西理工学院所在的纽瓦克市是新泽西州暴力罪案最高的城市之一，每年有近百人死于他杀。
日前，校方为仲兴举行了追思会，仲兴妈妈，一位平凡而伟大的母亲，会后说：“这是一个刑事案，与学校没有关系。此类抢劫案会在世界任何角落发生，希望所有海外华人提高安全防范意识，尽量少走夜路。” 仲兴妈妈感谢大家追思仲兴，全文在这里。
仲兴于2007年到NJIT读博士，为人耿直厚道的他5年多来结交了许多好朋友，包括在足球场上一起挥洒汗水的哥们。下面是仲兴亲人、母亲和导师的几篇纪念文章，以及为仲兴捐款的呼吁书。仲兴同学，你一路走好，在天堂里保佑爱你的亲人和朋友们。
天堂无泪 – 仲兴亲人
惊愕，泪如雨下，心痛……
我无法控制自己的泪水，特别是看到卉姐姐的博客和微博。我想，从此后，这世上，有了一个让我痛恨的国家，因为它夺走了我的好姐姐的唯一的孩子——仲兴！夺走了一个母亲唯一的希望。

仲兴，一直是卉姐姐的骄傲，也是我们这个圈子里的人的骄傲！他从清华附中到清华大学，再到美国留学，一直都表现得非常的优秀，是个难得的人才。可是就是这样难得的人才，却死在了那个陌生的国度，因为被抢劫，因为被抢劫！我诅咒那个罪人，下地狱吧，让法律惩罚你，让你的上帝惩罚你！让你永世不得超生！
姐姐在微博里说：那天，是她的世界末日。我的眼泪随之泛滥，我的心也随之破碎。怎么可以？怎么可以？在我们这个执行计划生育的国家，这唯一的孩子就是每个家庭的天，每对父母活着的希望，孩子去了，父母的天塌了！！！同样是一个母亲，我当然明白姐姐的话，明白一颗做母亲的心是怎么样的痛！是痛吗？恐怕是痛到极处，已不知痛！ |
可是，我想告诉卉姐姐，天塌了，咱们也得活下去，不为别的，为了东儿在天堂安心，也为了咱们活着的亲人们，朋友们！东儿去了，还有我们，还有我们的孩子们！他们，她们，都是您的孩子！
此时此刻，我也痛恨于自己的嘴拙，千言万语，不知怎么说起，不知如何安慰卉姐姐，写下此文，希望天堂的东儿一路走好！更希望卉姐姐能看在这么多亲人和好朋友关心她、关注她的份上，节哀!保重！
来美奔丧前1月4日 – 仲兴妈妈
今天我去签证，订机票，刚刚到家。感觉一个下午很多事情发生了变化。比如说，警局讲仲兴有起博器？比如说……。我在想，为什么和第一时间的说法有这样大的差别？
这是第一时间，就是一号中午，（中国时间），外甥致电警员得知的情况，他发信于我： I contacted Detective Jaime Velez of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force yesterday afternoon. He informed me that my cousin Zhong Xing has passed away around 1:30am in the morning of 12/31/2012. They have not confirmed the cause of death yet, but there were signs of a struggle. They speculate it might have been the result of a robbery. The detective’s phone number is… — Fei Li 相信懂英文的你应该明白他看到的是什么。

另一方面，在大家的热切关注下，网上转载有关仲兴的东西越来越多，大家是好意，但语言是有语境的，有时道听途说，会误解很多问题。有时会无意加上自己的想象，或者说理解上的偏差。因此，我恳请大家，人命关天的大事，一定要认真再认真、严肃再严肃，如果在转载传播中越来越走样，会引起警方的反感。讨公道是要摆事实讲道理的。我看到大家在说“老黑”作案，我以为破案了，否则怎么会连肤色都知道了，在漆黑的夜里？这样严肃的事，希望大家不要猜测，不要想象，不要杜撰。这是我和警方交涉的事情。否则事情还没有搞清楚，我们这里已经杀声一片，会引起警局的反感，会影响他们的破案态度，会给仲兴帮倒忙。 |

Letter from Prof. Muratov of NJIT
Dear Colleagues,
I am deeply shocked and overcome by the horrible news of Xing Zhong’s death. Xing was supposed to start as my postdoc at our department this very day, and we were going to meet this week to discuss the significant progress he made in our joint work that extends the results of his thesis… It is incomprehensible that such a bright and dedicated mathematician and a unique human being would find such an untimely and abrupt end! Over the years, Xing grew from a young and aspiring student to a mature researcher at the very top of the field of analysis of nonlinear partial differential equations, having made substantial contributions to a notoriously difficult problem formulated back in the 1960’s. This Fall he came as a volunteer to NJIT to continue working with me, and during that time he made further advances to this problem in greater generality that go considerably beyond those that are currently available in the literature. I received the latest update from him on the manuscript he was writing at 11:33pm on December 30th, 2012…
I understand that the case is still under investigation by the police and that the cause of death has not yet been determined. I believe that NJIT must pay very close attention to the progress of the police inquiry and that the NJIT community must be duly informed of its results. In the mean time, I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to Xing’s family and want to assure them that I will carry our unfinished work to a successful conclusion.

It is with our deep regret to report the death of Xing Zhong who graduated recently from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and previously from Tsinghua University. He is a promising graduate student who will do post-doctoral work in the Math Department in NJIT in Jan 2013. Xing was discovered on 12/31 near his residence in Newark. The reason for his death is still under investigation.
NJIT GSA and CSSA are collaborating with THAA-GNY (Tsing Hua University Alumni Association – Greater New York Area) for the donation to Xing Zhong’s parents and family. The donation will go to the memorial fund setup by THAA-GNY and eventually will be handed over to Xing Zhong””s parents in full.

仲兴（Xing Zhong）同学，毕业于清华大学，2007年秋季入学新泽西理工学院 (New Jersey Institute of Technology, NJIT) 应用数学系开始博士学习，于2012年4月完成博士论文答辩，2012年5月毕业，并将于2013年1月在NJIT继续他的博士后研究。然而，仲兴同学不幸在2012年12月31日凌晨被发现死于Newark。目前，警方只确认了他的死讯，没有给出详细的案件情况。校方表示会跟NJIT CSSA一起帮助和安排仲兴母亲和侄女来美的方方面面。
这是他的同学对他的回忆：
“仲兴很善良，从不占别人便宜，而且很爱帮助别人。
现在我女朋友看到我用的书架就哭，那是去年夏天我搬家的时候兴哥送的礼物。
他很热心，他曾经主动提出想借钱给我，因为他不知道从哪儿听说我那个月过的比较拮据。
他很勤奋，他有一篇和Muratov合作关于用Energy Method去处理Diffusion Reaction的SCI文章已经接受，关于高维情况下的第二篇文章本来这个月就该写完了。
他没有节假日，相信数学系很多人都可以作证。他基本上是数学系每天最后一个离开办公室的学生。
他是素食主义者。那个口口声声说自己是不严格的素食主义的人，却是多么的坚持！
他踢足球，后卫。我曾经挖苦他说踢那么差还踢，他完全不生气，笑嘻嘻的说social一下，他也要锻炼身体。
他很简朴。自己很简朴，极少买衣服。请客吃饭却总是主动掏钱。
他很憨，从来不愿意给别人添一点麻烦。我和他那么熟，我开车送他回家都得求着他送他，没和他朋友过的人根本不相信世界上还有这种人。”
