Shanghai, Dec. 25, 2013, — As part of an annual Christmas tradition, thousands of people in Shanghai participated in a pillow fight on Christmas Eve. Many young people participate, saying it relieves stress from the high-pressure, face-paced life in the city.

Participants held pillows above their heads as organizers counted down to the 10-minute fight.
Now in its seventh year, the pillow fight is designed as a creative outlet for releasing stress and marking the holiday season.
The founder of the annual pillow fight said that releasing stress is important for young people who are facing pressures from work or school.
One young man said that it was good to finally break out in sweat after long hours in the office all year.
A ticket to a pillow fight night in Shanghai costs around $24.
