Lexington, Mass., Jan. 3, 2013, — When I browsed through the pages of Boston Globe waiting for my car to be serviced on the first work day of 2014, the picture of my friend Weidong Wang and his family on page 3 of the Globe West section caught my eyes. Weidong Wang and his wife Faith Lin are members of Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL).

In this feature piece titled “Shots for prosperity seen, not heard”, Nancy West wrote about photographer Damian Strohmeyer’s work during the Lexington 300 celebrations. The 37 “Faces of Lexington” photographs are currently on display in an exhibition at Cary Memorial Library until Jan. 31, 2014 according to the article.
“The range of subjects in the exhibition reflects the constantly evolving demographics of the town, Strohmeyer said,” wrote Nancy West. One interesting note about the portrait of Wang family, referred as “a family of Chinese immigrants” in the article, is the old portrait taken in China held by Katherine Wang.
Long-time Lexington resident Prof. Larry Ho wrote in an email: “Congratulations to Faith Lin and Weidong Wang for being featured in Boston Globe today representing the new Lexington.”
Mr. Weidong Wang was elected to Lexington Housing Authority on Super Tuesday of 2012, the first Chinese American to be elected in town-wide elections in Lexington. He works at a software company in Cambridge, and volunteers at CAAL and Newton Chinese Language School.
