  • You Are Invited to 33rd Annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival

    Come celebrate the 33rd Annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival on Sunday, June 10, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. – 5 p.m. Spectators will be able to watch brightly colored dragon boats, piloted by paddlers from Greater Boston, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, Philadelphia, California, and Montreal, Canada as they race down the Charles River between JFK Street and the Western Avenue Bridge. While races start in the morning, cultural programs will begin at 12 Noon. All programs are free and family friendly for visitors.

  • 美国私立高中名校招生主任谈中国学生的申请

    		 中国学生“高中留美”的热潮一浪高过一浪。今年，一方面是一些最顶尖的美国私立寄宿高中增加了录取中国学生的名额，如St. Paul’s School 就破天荒地录取了三名大陆学生；另一方面，中国申请学生的人数骤增，而且中国学生的TOEFL和SSAT考试成绩大幅提升，出现了一些令人惊讶的结果：不少考分很高的中国学生，竟然不被一所美国私立高中录取！当中，有的学生申请美国高中身心投入极深，以致一些家长哀叹：小孩没书读了。这么多考试成绩这么好的中国小孩，为什么今年会落得如此？带着这个疑问，波士顿教育和专业发展中心徐罡博士一行走访了北野赫尔蒙山中学（Northfield Mount Hermon）。

    2011年圣诞节之前，我许了一个愿：希望能给自己过一个充实，有意义的圣诞节。佛教讲有求必应，有愿必成，我许下的这个愿，果然实现了：我将要到访圣严师父在美国的法源地—东初禅寺，而且还将参加象冈道场在12月26号举办的禅七活动！

  • Xiamen Delegation Pitches Double Hundreds Talent Program at MIT

In the evening of May 27, the Xiamen Municipal Government delegation successfully held Overseas Talents Forum and Double Hundreds Talent Program promotion conference at MIT Faculty Club.

  • Focal Chinese Music To Re-Open Melrose’s 116-year-old Corinthian Hall

    MELROSE, MA – Starting June 10, 2012, Focal Chinese Music Corp. (FCM), a music education and performing arts company will re-open and manage Melrose’s 116-year-old Corinthian Hall. Currently owned by Melrosian Stephen Longmuir, Corinthian Hall, with its 1900s interior preserved and restored, will serve as FCM’s headquarters.

  • Lotus Flowers As You Have Never Seen Before

    		 Lotus flower has a special place in Chinese culture. An old Chinese saying states "it may have come from muddy water, but the lotus flower is so beautiful and pure." It's also one of the holiest symbols in Buddhism. I took these pictures in a small pond north of Boston in July 2011. I used Canon 5D II and 70-200mm and 100mm macro lens for these shots.

  • GBAAYSO To Present The Bufferfly Lover Concert at Lexington High on June 16

    After the first public concert at National Heritage Museum in Lexington, Mass. in December 2011, the Asian Cultural Center Greater Boston Asian-American Youth Symphony Orchestra (GBAAYSO) has been active in local communities. A number of charity concerts have been presented by GBAAYSO at senior centers and other venues in Lexington and Waltham, including a Food for Music concert in Lexington on April 15 that raised about $2,000 for Lexington Food Bank.
