Boston, June 2, 2014, –Today is the Duanwu Festival Day, also known as Dragon Boat Festival. The festival occurs on the fifth day of the fifth month of the traditional lunar calendar to honor ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan. Boston is the host of one of the longest running Dragon Boat Festival celebrations in North America.

Watch Out Lang Lang, Here Comes Niu Niu!

Arrived at Walnut Hill School of Arts four years ago from Xiamen, Fujian province, China, Niu Niu performed at his graduation recital on May 9 at the school in Natick, Mass. The room was packed by about 80 teachers, students and family friends. Niu Niu performed three challenging pieces by Chopin, Beethoven and Mussorgsky, and received long standing ovation from the audience.

Kayla Harrison — How An Olympic Champion Is Busy Changing the World

Boston, May 15, 2014, —- My first ever handshake with an Olympic Champion came after 30-minute car ride from Boston to Stoneham. Kayla Harrison was practicing judo with her coach Jimmy Pedro at the dojo. She easily carried Pedro on the back and threw him down like handling a little boy rather than a grown man.
Harrison greeted me with a firm handshake and sat down for our scheduled interview. As the first American who won the Olympic Judo gold medal, and also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Harrison had a lot of stories to tell. Training for another Olympic gold, writing a book, launching a national nonprofit and an acting career, Harrison kept herself busy. Her fighting spirit made her an Olympic champion, and is making the world a better place for all of us.

Jiang Kun Delivers Entertaining Lecture at Harvard

Cambridge, Mass., May 12, 2014, — Jiang Kun, one of the most famous comedians in China, delivered a lecture about the history of Quyi, also know as Chinese Folk Art, at Harvard University on May 10. The lecture was frequently interrupted by laughter and applause from the 200 Chinese students and professionals in the classroom.

Angel Dance Company Presents Splendid Dunhuang to Start AAAOB Festival
