Runners Julia Kuo and Yanyi Weng To Represent BCNC at Boston Marathon 2013
The Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) has selected Emily Weng and Julia Kuo as runners representing Team BCNC for the 2013 Boston Marathon charity program. Through the John Hancock Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program, BCNC was awarded two charity bibs for runners who support BCNC. Together, they set a goal to raise $16,000, with all proceeds benefiting BCNC and the vital services for immigrant children, youth and families.
The John Hancock Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program allows for local Boston non-profits to find runners for fundraising; the program provided over 1,000 runners and hopes to raise 6 million dollars for a variety of organizations.

Taiwan Opens First Mainland Trade Promotion Center in Shanghai
SHANGHAI – Taiwan’s leading trade promotion agency opened its first office in the Chinese mainland in Shanghai on Tuesday.
The Taipei World Trade Center, which opened the Taiwan Trade Center Shanghai Representative Office, is expected to open another office in Beijing by the end of this year, said its president Wang Chih-Kang.

New Law Allows Up To Ten “Virtual Schools” in Massachusetts

Wu Ying Vocal Studio 2013 Concert To Be Held on Jan. 12 in Lexington
Ying Wu, a mezzo-soprano, B.A. in Vocal Performance from Hangzhou Normal University, China. After her graduation, she performed as a soloist with the Performing Arts of Beijing Postal. In 2007, Ms. Wu played the title role in opera “Carmen” with Zhejiang Opera and Dance Drama Theatre. She also taught vocal performances in Beijing Zhongyin Arts School and Hangzhou Municipal Art Center for Youth.
