  • One Hundred Year Old Cars Exhibited in 400-Year-Old Park

    Boston, Sept. 25, 2014, –The third annual Boston Cup Classic Car Show was held in the Boston Common on Sept. 21 near the Parkman Bandstand. This year, in addition to 100 classic collector cars, race cars and electric vehicles. Hundreds of tourists to Boston Common, which was initially established 380 years ago in 1634, were pleasantly surprised by seeing the beautiful cars in exhibition on a perfect early autumn day..

  • Granite Employees Support Quincy Asian Community

    Quincy, Mass., Sept. 29, 2014, – The Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center(BCNC) is pleased to announce that Granite Telecommunications, LLC, a provider of communications solutions to businesses, contributed $3,583 to BCNC Quincy through Jeans Day, a Granite initiative where employees can wear casual dress in exchange for contributing to a designated non-profit organization. BCNC Quincy, the recipient of the September 5 Jeans Day, provides youth programs, family services, and adult education programs to residents from Quincy and the surrounding South Shore communities.

  • Moore Police Statement on Fired Empolyee Beheading Coworker Case

    Moore Police received a 911 call from 216 NE 12th (Vaughn Foods) in reference to a subject attacking employees inside the business. As officers responded the caller advised someone had been stabbed then gunshots were fired inside the business. Officers entered the business treating it as an active shooter incident.

  • Mayor Walsh Announces the Neighborhood Innovation District Committee

    Boston, Sept. 26, 2014, –Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced the formation of a “Neighborhood Innovation District Committee” to expand innovation and entrepreneurship in the City of Boston today. The Neighborhood Innovation District Committee will seek to identify policies, practices, and infrastructure improvements to support the development of innovation districts throughout the City. The first meeting will be October 1 from 6:00PM to7:30PM at the Roxbury Community College at Roxbury Community College, Media Arts Room 1 (Room 301) at 1234 Columbus Avenue. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

    Halfway through the week, we hope we can help you ease into the weekend with the Chinese Historical Society of New England’s annual banquet. Thank you Susan Chinsen for introducing tonight’s program.

    Last year we were pleased to welcome Susan as our managing director. As you’ll see in more depth in our Chronicle, in this past year, Susan and CHSNE have been very busy programming, offering a range of lectures, field trips, tours, films, theatre and other activities to reach out to the broader community and fulfill our mission. We hope you were able to join us for some of those offerings and plan to participate in more this coming program year.
