    Boston, Oct. 12, 2013, — Kollaboration Boston 3 was held at Berklee Performance Center in the evening of Oct. 11. After 3-hour competition and performances in front of an audience of 500, Derek Hus took home the grand prize with his amazing routine of Chinese Yo-yo. The Movement Box (Vocal Percussion/Dance) took the runner-up prize.

  • Shaolin Kung Fu Wowed the Audience at U.N. Headquarters

    New York City, Oct. 11, 2013, –Shi Yongxin, the 30th-generation abbot of the legendary Shaolin Temple, led a cultural delegation to perform kung fu at the United Nations headquarters on Oct 9.

    Performing traditional Chinese martial arts moves, the 18-member group wowed the audience, many of whom said they had never seen such feats before.

  • Elaine Dang’s Family Asks for Donations to Cover Medical Expenses

    Elaine is a fighter. She has fought for what she believes in, fought for others, and fought for her life. In June of 2012, Elaine left Southern California to pursue her passion for providing education to under-served children. She joined a company that builds and operates schools serving some of the most vulnerable children across Kenya. During her time there, Elaine discovered that one of her professional strengths was managing those working at visionary companies. In June of 2013, Elaine joined an innovative Kenyan start-up company called EatOut.

    Boston, October 8, 2013, — Boston Chinatown Residents Association (CRA) holds monthly meetings on first Wednesday of each month in Josiah Quincy Elementary School in Chinatown. Two final candidates for Boston Mayor: State Representative Marty Walsh and Boston City Councilor At-Large John Connolly appeared at the Oct. 2 meeting. About 100 Chinatown residents attended this meeting, and asked the candidates questions. Terry Yin, administrative director of CRA did Cantonese interpretation for the two candidates.

  • After Third Asian American Festival, AAAB Plans More Cultural Events

    Boston, Oct. 6, 2013, — During a recent board meeting at 130 Lincoln Street in Boston Chinatown, members of Asian American Association of Boston (AAAB) reflected on the successful completion of third Asian American Festival on Sept. 7 at Quincy High School, and reviewed plans for future events. Mr. Klysler Yen also brought moon cakes and coffee to thank the hard work by meeting attendees in organizing the Asian American Festival.

  • Consul General Sun Guoxiang Hosts China’s National Day Reception in NYC

  • Prof. Shi Yigong of Tsinghua University Wins Aminoff Prize 2014

    The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has dedicated the award the Gregori Aminoff Prize in Crystallography 2014 to Professor Shi Yigong, Dean of the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University, according to a news release by RSAS in September. Professor Shi was awarded “for his groundbreaking crystallographic studies of proteins and protein complexes that regulate programmed cell Death.”
