  • Boston Senior Home Care Hosts Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser to Increase Supportive Housing Programs for Boston’s Low Income Seniors

    Boston Senior Home Care (BSHC) will host its Annual Celebration and Fundraiser on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston. The event will feature a live and silent auction, hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar, and music by Jazz in the Air. The goal for the event is to raise $100,000 dollars to increase the number of Supportive Housing programs in the City of Boston. Several State and City officials, members of the BSHC Board of Directors, staff and numerous business partners who work on behalf of BSHC consumers are expected to be in attendance.

    Exit polls by CBS News reveal that the fossil-fueled Superstorm Sandy, and President Obama’s response, was a crucial factor for two in five voters nationwide. Twenty-six percent of those polled said Obama’s broadly praised response was an important factor, and 15 percent — about one in six voters — said it was the most important factor in their vote.

    Fire ruined upward of 100 homes in Queens, N.Y. as Sandy passed by.

  • Boston Philharmonic Orchestra Concert To Feature Pianist George Li

    In the evening of Nov. 15, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) will present a sepecial concert at Harvard University Sanders Theatre. The concert will feature talented young pianist George Li of Lexington, Mass.

    Alfred Brendel gave George Li master piano lesson at Verbier Festival Academy in Switzerland in July 2012.

  • $38 Million for 26 New MassWorks Infrastructure Projects Is Announced Today

    BOSTON – November 9, 2012 –The Patrick-Murray Administration today announced $38 million for 26 new MassWorks Infrastructure Program grants to support economic development and housing creation throughout the Commonwealth. Through these grants, the Patrick-Murray Administration will partner with cities and towns to make targeted investments in infrastructure such as roadways, streetscapes, water, and sewer to facilitate and support new and sustained housing and economic growth throughout Massachusetts. The MassWorks Program infrastructure investments are targeted to projects that require the infrastructure upgrades or expansion in order for new growth to take place.

  • A Free Concert Not to be Missed by Soprano Yan Lian on November 10

    On Saturday, November 10, a special concert with many beautiful Chinese and Western songs will take place at St. Paul’s Parish Church in Malden, Mass. Soprano Yan Lian graduated from South China Normal University, Department of Music Performance under the tutelage of Professor Yi Ding, Xiuwei Sun and Yun Deng. Professor Yun Deng was the first Chinese singer signed contract with United States Metropolitan Opera House. Currently, Yan Lian is studying opera at Longy School of Music under Professor Donna Roll.

  • Firstever Tie in First-of-the-nation Dixville Notch Election: Obama and Romney Each Gets Five Votes

    The results of the first in the nation presidential election was made public on live TB at 3:05 AM on November 6, 2012 in Dixville Notch, NH. The voting started right after the midnight, and a total of 10 votes were recorded in this small precinct. Among the 10 votes, there were five independents, three Republicans and two democrats.
