Caught in the Web is a Chinese movie directed by Chen Kaige, a leading figure of the fifth generation of Chinese cinema. In this July 2012 movie, director Chen tried to combine the passion for Internet among modern Chinese people with his unique storytelling skills. Caught in the Web is the official entry from China to the 85th Academy Awards (2013) for Best Foreign Language Film.

“Northeast Tigers” soccer club was established on year 2000. We are all soccer lovers in “Borogh” area: Marlborogh, Westborogh, Northborogh, Southborogh and Worcester, and play every Sunday since then. We have average 30 people in our club. Most of us are Chinese. Some Brazilian friends joined us as well (4 to 6). “Happy soccer” is our slogan. “Soccer” is our Religion (Sunday Moring Play instead of Pray).

The New Bostonioan Summit was held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 8:00 AM at City Year’s Lavine Civic Forum. The half-day summit focused on top issues facing Boston’s immigrants. About 250 Boston’s immigrants and representatives from several sectors attended the Summit The half-day summit provided an update on the New Bostonians Agenda, a collective response to three of the biggest issues facing Boston’s immigrants: educational attainment for their children (K-12 Education); English language acquisition (ESOL); and economic success through family-sustaining jobs.
Director Cheng Imm Tan explains the three breakout sessions coming up at the summit.

On the weekend of October 27 – 28, the Cornell China Conference will be held in Cornell University, a member of the prestigious Ivy League located in Ithaca, New York. Cornell Chinese Students Association (CCSA), the organizer of this conference states that the theme of the conference is to discuss the perspectives of China given the background of national reformation and transformation.

Boston – As of October 22, the Youtube video titled “PSY – GANGNAM STYLE (강남스타일) M/V” has had over 528 million views, over 2 million comments, 2.3 million comments, 4.3 millions likes and 223,000 dislikes. The video was uploaded on July 15, 2012. So, in about 100 days, the daily average views on Youtube is over 5 million per day.

In the evening of October 20, 2012, about 300 Chinese People of Greater Boston and New England held an appreciation party for Senator Scott Brown at Empire Garden restaurant. They thanked Senator Brown’s contribution in passing resolution S.Res.201 – A resolution expressing the regret of the Senate for the passage of discriminatory laws against the Chinese in America, including the Chinese Exclusion Act, passed in the US Senate on October 6, 2011. Also in attendance were members of the Vietnamese, Korean, and Cambodian communities.

On October 12, Mayor Christenson attended “Dream With Us” which kicked off the 2012-2013 Firebrand Concert Series Season at St. Paul’s Episcopal Parish. Many Malden residents filled the church to hear the Soprano and Spring Trio’s version of works by Purcell, Mozart, De Falla, Villa-Lobos, Bernstein, and Schoenfield. Additionally, an original composition by the Trio’s Composer-in-Residence, Oliver Caplan, served to be a big hit. |

Hong Kong, October 18, 2012 – The four-day Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), the largest trade fair of its kind in the world, and the concurrent electronicAsia concluded on Tuesday, October 16 after attracting more than 97,000 buyers from 140 countries and regions. The twin fairs welcomed 3,900 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions.

I’m currently studying at UMass Boston. I first fell in love with photography after I took a class in school. I am still in the process of learning and understanding more about all aspects of it. Even though it hasn’t been long time, photographing people, every-day objects and different scenery is my passion. I find joy and fulfillment in being able to capture stories and memories in a single picture.

After realizing my new-found hobby, I have had numerous opportunities to shoot portraits for different models, landscapes, magazine work and events including, but not limited to weddings and parties. I am able to develop good RAW picture files as well as delivering edited pictures as I am experienced in Adobe Photoshop. Please do not hesitate to contact me for events or location shoots. I took the pictures below during a recent trip to White Mountains in New Hampshire. I used Canon 5D Mark III DSLR, and 16-35mm f2.8 and 24-70mm f2.8 lenses for these pictures. |
