Beijing Opera in Bikinis? Art or Atrocity

The mixture of “Beijing opera headwear and bikinis” is actually like “drinking coffee and eating garlic at the same time.” It not only looks strange but also feels odd. Facing queries, organizers of the international bikini contest loudly explained that they were not deliberately imitating the Beijing Opera but just trying to transmit the beauty of the East and bring the Chinese culture to the world.

2012 IBM NECINA YES 7.0 Had Opening Class, Registratoin to End on Oct. 6

In the morning of September 22, the IBM NECINA YES (Youth Entrepreneurship Service) Program 7.0 had its kickoff class at IBM Innovation Center in Waltham, Mass. About two dozen students from local high schools listened to Joseph Perry, IBM Regional Innovation Center Manager for the North American Eastern Region, on the basics of developing a business plan.

Chinese Scientists Made Important Contributions in Hunting “God Particle”
BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) — Chinese scientists have made “important” contributions in hunting the Higgs boson, or “God particle,” in cooperation with the European Center for Nuclear Research, a Chinese research body said on Thursday.
A simulated event at the Large Hadron Collider. This simulation depicts the decay of a Higgs particle following a collision of two protons in the CMS experiment.

2012 BBOA’s Annual Performance Features Operas from East and West

In the evening of October 7, Boston Beijing Opera Association (BBOA) will present its annual performance at Cambridge Family YMCA Theater (820 Mass. Ave, Cambridge MA 02139). In this year’s performance, audience will not only enjoy classical Beijing Opera programs but also erhu, guzheng and saxophone performances by well-known musicians Hongwei Gao, Hui Weng and Pei Yin. Singer Jin Wei will also perform Italian Opera “O mio babbino caro” (“Oh My Beloved Father”).
