    SEATTLE, Sept. 22, 2015 — Chinese President Xi Jinping on put forward a four-point proposal on the development of a new model of major-country relationship between China and the United States today during his speech during the welcome banquet at Westin Seattle hotel in Seattle. A large number of people from the Chinese communities in Seattle turned out to welcome President Xi on the streets of Seattle.

    Boston, Sept. 21, 2015, — The 5th AA Day celebrations was held yesterday at Boston Marriott Burlington Hotel. Over 500 guests showed up for the event. State Senator Jason Lewis, State Rep. Donald Wong and Selectman of Town of Burlington Robert Hogan were on hand to offer citations to Asian American Association of Boston. CCBA-NE president Hung Goon and Nam Pham representing Quincy Mayor also made congratulatory speeches.

  • 2015 CIFIT Attracts 100,000 Businessmen to Xiamen

    Xiamen, China, Sept. 17, 2015, — Around 100,000 businessmen and 4,000 enterprises from 105 countries and regions took part in the 2015 China International Fair for Investment & Trade(CIFIT).

    In the four days from Sept 8 to 11, the fair, held in Xiamen, Fujian province staged 1,000 matchmaking events, presented 30,000 projects, 300 business events and 100 themed workshops.

He was recently listed as one of 100 distinguished University of Minnesota alumni from China. Dr. Liu is now dean of Beijing Union Medical College School of Public Health.

  • Malden Holds Public Safety Awareness Meeting

    Malden, Mass., Sept. 10, 2015, — Mayor Gary Christenson recently held his Public Safety Awareness meeting in collaboration with the Chinese Culture Connection at the Senior Center. Although the meeting was geared towards non-English speaking Asian residents, the general public was invited to participate in the discussion. Mayor Christenson was joined by Police Chief Kevin Molis, Fire Chief Jack Colangeli, and Department of Public Works Director Bob Knox who helped answer questions and address concerns.

  • Flying High! NEU’s Coco Miao Wins ATV Miss Asia Boston

    Boston, Sept. 15, 2015, — Just a couple years ago, Coco Miao worked hard at 30,000 feet above ground to bring smiles on faces of first-class passengers of China Eastern Airlines. Her beautiful smile won the hearts of the six judges and cheers and applause from 600 in the audience at John Hancock Hall Sunday night. Miss. Miao was crowned as the first ATV Miss Asia Boston winner.

  • Railcar Plant Breaks Ground in Springfield, MA

    Boston, Sept. 10, 2015 (cntv.tv) — A subsidiary of CRRC, the world’s largest rail-car maker in China has just broken ground for a $60 million plant in Springfield, Mass. that will assemble new cars for Boston’s subway system. It is expected to create hundreds of local jobs.
