  • The 67th Wideman Piano Competition Gold Medalists: Wang Yinuo and Mei Li

    Dec. 11, 2017, — Wang Yinuo and Mei Li were named Gold Medalists at the 67th Wideman International Piano Competition. Both young pianists were rising stars in China.

    Wang Yinuo, born in Beijing, China in October 1996. Starting to play the piano at the age of 4. In 2007, she was admitted as a piano student to the Music Elementary School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) in Beijing, and in 2010 she entered the Music Middle School attached to CCOM.

  • Videos from Moy Shee Association Year of Dog Banquet

    Boston, March 12, 2017, — Closed to 300 people, including Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn, attended New England Moy Shee Association Year of Dog Banquet last night at China Pearl restaurant in Boston Chinatown. The Chinese last name 梅 has several variations in English, such as Moy, Mei and Fong.

  • Amazing Pictures from Belmont Chinese New Year Celebration

    Boston, Feb. 19, 2018, — The Belmont Chinese American Association (BCAA) held a cultural festival at the Chenery Middle School recently to celebrate the Chinese the New Year of the Dog. This is the second year in a row such a colorful celebration was held in Belmont, and it draw over 700 people to the festivities.

  • Grace Cai and The Skating Club of Boston Raise Fund to Eliminate Cancer

    Inspired to change the impact of cancer on the lives of those in our Club community, The Skating Club of Boston and its Theatre On Ice of Boston program are inviting all Club members to partner with them and the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation to Turn Cancer Upside Down. Funds raised for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation support cancer research, education, and survivorship with 20% of the funds raised through this Club initiative going directly to two of our local, world-class institutions: Mass General Cancer Center and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

    Boston, Sept. 9, 2017, — The 7th Asian American Day celebrations were held successfully in Boston Common today from 10 AM to 4 PM. Over 30,000 people showed up for this day-long celebration of devise Asian cultures and enjoyed a beautiful day by watching performances and even a parade of over 20 cultural organizations in the common, led by Chinese Young Professionals Networking(CYPN).

  • Pianist George Li Awarded 2017 Arthur Waser Prize

    Lucerne, Switzerland, July 13, 2017, — The Arthur Waser Foundation and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra have awarded the American pianist George Li the Arthur Waser Prize. In addition to a prize money of 25,000 francs, this also includes a debut at KKL Luzern with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.

  • ACDC Unveils Community Mural Project Led by Residents and Youth

    Boston, July 7, 2017, — Chinatowns across the country face the threat of gentrification despite their historical and current importance as cultural and political sanctuaries for the Asian American community. Boston’s Chinatown is no exception, with its borders seeing rapid erosion in recent years. In its 30 years of community building, the Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) has been integral to the movement of preserving Boston’s Chinatown, with creative placemaking as part of its core mission since 2013.

  • John Hancock Brings Elite Runners to Hopkinton Marathon Rally

    HOPKINTON, MA – April 13, 2017 – John Hancock brought 2012 men’s champion Wesley Korir, 2015 women’s champion Caroline Rotich, and several other elite Kenyan athletes to a pre-marathon rally with nearly 600 students from Hopkinton’s Elmwood Elementary School. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first time John Hancock brought Kenyan athletes to the school for this event.
