    Boston, Feb. 17, 2014, — Chinese Historical Society of New England (CHSNE) hosted an open house in the afternoon of Feb. 9 at the China Trade Building in Chinatown. At the same time, Chinatown Main Street(CMS) also hosted Lunar New Year of the Horse cultural activities.

  • Holiday Greetings from Boston Forward

    Dear members and friends of Boston Forward,

    As we celebrate the Lantern Festival and Valentine’s Day this Friday, I would like to wish you and your family good health and happiness in the Chinese New Year of the Horse. Hopefully, Boston Forward will achieve more in promoting equality and defending civil rights among underrepresented minorities this year with help and support from all of you.

    At the New England Chinese Professionals Lunar New Year Gala, one of the largest Chinese New Year celebrations in this region, on Feb. 1, 2014, Boston Forward made debut appearance as a group. Not only Boston Forward won the support from various professional associations, there were also more than 20 professionals filling in the registration form to join us in the booth. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Pengcheng Zhu for providing the NeoBioPharma’s booth to Boston Forward during the community forum in the afternoon. At the evening banquet, Boston Forward was given the opportunity to introduce itself to hundreds of the guests.

  • ACLS Celebrates Year of the Horse with “Essence of China”

    Acton, Mass., Feb. 10, 2014, — The Acton Chinese Language School (ACLS) hosted a day-long Chinese New Year Celebration gala on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the RJ Grey Junior High School. Close to 1,000 ACLS teachers, students, parents and local residents attended this annual event.

  • Mayors Walsh, Christensen and Wong Attend Year of the Horse Lion Dance Parade in Chinatown

    Boston, Feb. 9, 2014, — It was a cold day this morning in Boston. Thousands of residents and tourists still showed up for today’s Lion Dance Parade in Boston Chinatown. They were delighted with lion dances by dozens of dancers from various teams to the loud drum beats and firecrackers.

  • The XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi Has Opened with a Grand Show

    Sochi, Russia, Feb. 8, 2014, — The XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 has opened with a grand show thrilling spectators at the Fisht Olympic Stadium and billions of viewers around the world. The Ceremony started at exactly 20:14 Moscow Time, which symbolizes the year of the first Winter Games in Russia’s history, and in about three hours the world was told the history of a great country – Russia. The Ceremony is set to be remembered around the world thanks to its scale, entertainment, unique scenery and innovative use of technology. In total, more than 12,000 people were involved in the realization of the Opening Ceremony of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in 2014.

  • Salt Lake City Public Library Holds Year of Horse Celebrations

    Salt Lake City, Feb. 6, 2014, — In the afternoon of Feb. 1, 2014, hundreds of people showed up for the Chinese New Year cultural celebration. Colorful banners and paper lanterns were hung in the Urban Room. A traditional Chinese lion dance, music, children’s activities, and other cultural events brought smiles to the faces of many kids in the audience.

  • Angle Dance Company to Present ​Dunhuang My Dreamland

    Boston, Feb. 6, 2014, — With its new year dance show and Chinese New Year performances in the rear view mirror, Angel Dance Company is preparing a grand dance show Dunhuang My Dreamland – Tales of the Silk Road. It will be staged in early March at Casey Theater of Regis College, and bring the splendid colors from the Silk Road to the early sprint of Boston.

  • Quincy Lunar New Year Festival Set for Feb. 16

    Quincy, Mass., Feb. 4, 2014, -― More than 8,000 people are expected at North Quincy High School on Sun., Feb. 16 for one of the biggest Lunar New Year Festivals in the region. Quincy Lunar New Year Festival hosted by Quincy Asian Resources will open The 26th with a traditional Lion Dance at 10:45 a.m., followed by hours of live entertainment, exhibits, activities and information for people of all backgrounds and cultures to enjoy.

  • Asian American Association of Boston Holds Friendship Party

    Cambridge, Mass., Jan. 21, 2014, –Asian American Association of Boston(AAAOB) held its first Friendship Party in the afternoon of Jan. 18 at Cambridge Innovation Center on One Broadway. Despite a snowstorm on that day, close to 100 invited guests still showed up. AAAOB board president Ye Huang, executive director Klysler Yen, and director of AAAOB’s Performing Art Troupe Jicheng Gu warmly welcomed all guests.
