Two Seniors Raised $2098 for Cary Memorial Library

April 3, 2018, — Two senior artists Mr. Junyu Cheng and Ms. Jinyuan Dong recently held a Chinese calligraphy and painting exhibition at Cary Memorial Library in Lexington. A total of $698 in total proceeds from the exhibition was donated to the library. With the 1:1 match by two anonymous donors, each donating $700, a total of $2098 has been raised for the Cary Memorial Library Foundation (CMLF).

Cardinal Sean O’Malley Celebrates Chinese New Year in Chinatown

Boston, Feb. 22, 2018, — On Sunday, Feb. 18, Cardinal Sean O’Malley went to St. James the Greater Church in Chinatown to bring New Year’s greetings to the Boston Chinese Catholic community. The Year of Dog started on Feb. 16 on the Chinese calendar, which is one of the oldest calendars in the world.

Boston, Feb. 19, 2018, — The Belmont Chinese American Association (BCAA) held a cultural festival at the Chenery Middle School recently to celebrate the Chinese the New Year of the Dog. This is the second year in a row such a colorful celebration was held in Belmont, and it draw over 700 people to the festivities.

After 50+ Years, BPL Chinatown Branch Reopens On Feb. 5

Boston, Jan. 31, 2018, — It was a campaign promise made by candidate Marty Walsh in 2013, and Mayor Walsh finally delivered it at end of his first term as the funding for Boston Public Library Chinatown Branch was annouced in 2017. The Chinatown Branch will open its doors on Feb. 5 at the China Trade Center in Chinatown.

Wow! Pictures from 7th Asian American Day in Boston Common

Boston, Sept. 9, 2017, — The 7th Asian American Day celebrations were held successfully in Boston Common today from 10 AM to 4 PM. Over 30,000 people showed up for this day-long celebration of devise Asian cultures and enjoyed a beautiful day by watching performances and even a parade of over 20 cultural organizations in the common, led by Chinese Young Professionals Networking(CYPN).

Mass Pike Tenants Seek Resident and Community Control
Boston, July 14, 2017, — Tenants from Mass Pike Towers, a 200-unit low-income housing development in Boston Chinatown, staged a protest today with supporters to highlight an ongoing dispute over the tenant association’s right to purchase the tenants’ homes according to a 2000 agreement between Trinity Financial and the Mass Pike Towers Tenant Association.
