  • Quincy Residents, Americorps Help Mark MLK Day of Service

    Quincy, Mass., — The Houghs Neck Community Council maximized a mini-grant of just over $1,400.00 from the Massachusetts Service Alliance to host a “Martin Luther King Service Day” on Monday, January 18th. State Representative Tackey Chan stopped by to greet the 25 youth, 50 AmeriCorps members, and other adult volunteers. For this second annual event, a combined total of 310 hours were served. Activities produced a collection of 17 winter coats, 143 letters to troops, 264 valentines for seniors, 35 herb gardens, and 87 Goodie Bags for Homeless Children.

  • Boston Honors MLK Jr. with Day of Service

    Boston, Jan。 14, 2016 — Mayor Martin J. Walsh in partnership with The Museum of African American History and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras will present, “A Day of Service and Celebration in Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 1pm in Faneuil Hall.  Tributes to Dr. King will feature family-friendly classical and spiritual pieces performed by BYSO’s Intensive Community Program, conducted by Marta Zurad, and leaders in their own fields and in community.

  • Singtao Daily Honored by NACA

    Cambridge, Mass., — Awards were handed out at the new year concert of North American Chorus Association (NACA). About 700 music fans attended the concert at Harvard’s Sanders Theatre. Singtao Daily, one of the largest daily Chinese newspapers in the world, was honored at the concert for its detailed reporting of the grand Yellow River Cantata concert last year.

  • Picture from Taiwan Benevolent Association Xmas Party

    Quincy, Mass., Dec. 24, 2015, — Taiwan Benevolent Association of Greater Boston’s Christmas Party was held at China Pearl restaurant in Quincy on Dec. 22. About 300 members and guests enjoyed a night of music and dance. Hung Goon, President of CCBA New England, handed out gifts in a Santa Clause custom.
