  • A-B High Makes US News Top Ten List for Best High Schools for STEM

    Acton, Mass., July 31, 2014, — In a US News ranking of best public high schools for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) earlier this year, Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in Acton made to the top ten list. Five high schools in the Silicon Valley region of California took the fourth to eighth spots in the top ten list.

Johnson launched a series of programs aimed at restoring our nation’s fundamental promise of equality and opportunity. The July 1964 Civil Rights Act, and the Economic Opportunity Act, signed on Aug. 20 of that year, were twin pillars of the “War on Poverty” – both committed to extending the American Dream to those who had been unjustly excluded.

    July 30, 2014, (chinadaily.com.cn) — Chinese communities throughout the United State were saddened by the deaths last week of a 24-year-old Chinese graduate student at the University of Southern California (USC), who was beaten on his way to his apartment and died there, and a 59-year-old Chinese research professor at the University of North Carolina (UNC) after being mugged during his lunchtime walk on a street.

  • Belmont and Acton Students Took Top Prizes in KTByte’s Programming competition

    Boston, June 20, 2014, –Ewen Wang, a 9th grader from Belmont, and Sky Li, an 8th grader from Acton, won first ($1000 cash) and second ($500 cash) prizes respectively from KTByte’s Business and Technology Contest on June 15, 2014. KTByte runs competitions for aspiring computer scientists in addition to their camps and classes. All participants were challenged to produce computer applications with societal benefits. Students submitted rigorous and creative projects across a variety of subjects. These included educational games, media applications, robotics, productivity apps, and more. Four finalists were selected from 20 participants.

  • Bill to Change NYC Specialized High School Admissions Draws Concerns

  • The Sharewood Project Offers Free Health Clinic in Malden

    Boston, June 9, 2014, –It was 16 years ago when I first came to know the Sharewood Project in the Fall of 1998. I gradated from a master’s program earlier that year, and was working part-time for Singtao Daily newspaper. I went to report the weekly clinic by Sharewood Project at the Church of All Nations in Boston Chinatown.
