Boston, Oct. 14, 2016, — It’s not often that you can see a fashion show in the quiet western suburbs of Boston. In the evening of November 4, 2016 (6:30-9:30 PM), students from Yuqing Graceworks School will culminate their training program with an end-of-program fashion show, featuring dresses with brilliant fall colors, casual and elegant eveningwear ensembles.

We kicked off our 2016 program year with an animated annual dinner last October. Thank you to our sponsors, board members, volunteers, attendees, Sojourner awardees Arthur Wong and Gary Libby, and to our excellent key note presenters, Francis Chin and Vincent Lau. We asked them to discuss the Chinese American immigration experience, as we recognized 2015 as the 50th anniversary of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which eliminated the National Origins quotas. They took us back to the future/past of the Chinese American immigration experience in a lively, interactive and engaging presentation.

Boston, Sept. 26, 2016, — Music Director Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra kicked off the 2016-17 season Saturday night at 6 PM with an all-Russian Opening Night program featuring highly-acclaimed Chinese pianist Lang Lang in Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3.

Boston, Sept. 12, 2016, — The Sixth Asian American Day Festival wae held in Boston Common on Saturday, Sept. 10. Gov. Baker, Mayor Walsh and Boston City Council declared Sept. 10, 2016 the Asian American Day in Massachusetts and in Boston. About 20,000 visitors stopped by to watch cultural performances and check out 30 food vendors and 80 booths in the northwest part of Boston Common.

Boston, Sept. 7, 2016, — In just a couple days, the Sixth Asian American Day Festival will be held in Boston Common on Sept. 10. Boston City Council has issued an official resolution signed by Council President Michelle Wu declaring Sept. 10, 2016 the Asian American Day in Boston. This is the first such proclamation by a major US city to recognize the significant contributions by Asian Americans in all aspects of our society.

Boston, Sept. 2, 2016, — As the Asian American Day Festival is to take place on Sept. 10 in Boston Common, Boston City Council has declared Sept. 10, 2016 as Asian American Day in Boston. The proclamation is signed by Michelle Wu, president of Boston City Council. This is the first such proclamation by a major city in the nation. Over 1,000 signatures were collected in a petition to declare the second Saturday in September as Asian American Day in Boston and the state.

Boston, Sept. 1, 2016, — The Chinese Historical Society of New England (CHSNE) and Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England (CCBA) have gained cooperation from the City of Boston to have offering tables available for Chong Yang Festival this Fall.
