  • Breakthrough Prize to Mark 5th Anniversary in Award Ceremony on Dec. 4

    December 4, 2016 – (San Francisco) – The Breakthrough Prize and founders Sergey Brin and Anne Wojcicki, Yuri and Julia Milner, and Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, tonight announced the recipients of the 2017 Breakthrough Prizes, marking the organization’s fifth anniversary recognizing top achievements in Life Sciences, Fundamental Physics and Mathematics. A combined total of $25 million was awarded at the gala ceremony in Silicon Valley, hosted by Morgan Freeman. Each of the Breakthrough Prizes is worth $3 million, the largest individual monetary prize in science.

    Ximing Wu was recently diagnosed with end stage liver cancer and I would like to ask for your help. Aside from being a wonderful, loving father and husband, Ximing is a 35-year-old postdoc at the Massachusetts General Hospital Transplant Science Center.

  • Pianist Andrew Li — A Rising Star

    Boston, July 12, 2016, — Just days before leaving for the Cooper Competition, Andrew Li gave an amazing recital at M Steinert and Sons in downtown Boston. About 80 music fans packed the small hall on the third floor of 162 Boylston St., right across Boston Common. They were treated with a night of beautiful music from one the of the rising stars in classic music in Boston.
