March 11, 2014, SACRAMENTO – Senators Ted Lieu, (D-Redondo Beach), Carol Liu (D- La Cañada/Flintridge) and Leland Yee (San Francisco/San Mateo) today requested Assembly Speaker John Pérez hold Senate Constitutional Amendment 5 (SCA-5) to allow more time to discuss its potential impacts with stakeholders and the Asian Pacific Islander community.

Boston, March 5, 2013, — According to a White House announcement on March 3, First Lady Michelle Obama is to pay a week-long visit to China starting on March 19. The First Lady will be visiting Beijing from March 20-23, Xi’an on March 24, and Chengdu from March 25-26.

Keogh, a local area attorney who practices family and probate law throughout Suffolk County, has announced his intention to run for the position of Suffolk County Register of Probate. Liu Yandong, Vice Premier of the China, on her visit to Chicago, attended the University of Sino-US high-level roundtable meeting held at the University of Chicago in Nov. 2013. Vice Premier Liu attended the China Scholarship Council, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Later on that day, she visited the Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s hospital of Chicago and Mayor Rahm Emanuel gave her a welcome speech, dinner and finished the evening by attending a Chicago Bulls NBA basketball game together.

Please vote NO to SCA5 in the Assembly. Print out the two campaign posters and you will see why.
The senate passing of SCA5 with the support of all three AsAm senators had sent shock waves through the AsAm community across the nation, turning ordinary citizens into an army of political activists. Even my 6 year old son asked “Why should I be sorted like monkeys in the zoo?” What messages are we sending to our children that they should be treated differently based on their skin colors, instead of their personal efforts and qualifications?

a report of arguments from both sides on Michigan’s state constitution ban
on affirmative action.

In my humble opinion, Jan. 30, 2014 marked the darkest day in California’s recent history of politics. On this day, the California Senate overwhelmingly (27:9) approved SCA-5, which would appeal provisions of Prop 209 and allow the State of California to discriminate an individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin.
