Donnie Yen Shared His Parent’s Wedding Photo with His Followers

Hong Kong movie star Donnie Yen revealed an old wedding photo of his parents in his micro-blog post recently to satisfy his 4 million plus followers on the popular Chinese website weibo.com. In this 50-year-old wedding photo, Donnie Yen’s mother looked very beautiful and graceful, sitting on a chair holding a bouquet of flowers on her hands. Donnie Yen’s father was in a suit, wearing glasses, and looked very modern for a groom in the early 1960s in China. Donnie Yen in the micro-blog post admired his parents’ unwavering love for each other over the past half century, and moved many of his followers.

Donnie Yen’s father Yunlong Yen was Boston editor of the international Chinese newspaper Sing Tao Daily. He plays the violin and the Chinese string instrument erhu. Donnie Yen inherited his father’s talent in music, and learned fundamental martial art skills from his mother. His mother Bow Sim Mark is a well-known martial artist in the Boston area.

Donnie Yen was born in Guangzhou, China in 1953, and moved to Hong Kong when he was 2, and then to Boston when he was 11 with his parents.
