From Vietnam to Boston, Amanda Le Empowers Immigrant Women

Boston, April 29, 2016, — Van Amanda Le, Chairwoman of National Asian Women‘s Association, was born to a Chinese family in Vietnam. She immigrated United States in 1985 and has distinguished herself by serving Boston’s Asian-American community for the past 23 years. She has had significant impact on the lives of many members of vibrant community through her involvement in the implementation and expansion of programs designed to increase Asian-American Bostonians awareness and utilization of available health care programs, and identifying and removing barriers to those programs. Miss. Le will be one of the panelists for the Surging Waves Symposium to be held at the Tsai Auditorium of Harvard Fairbanks Center on 1730 Cambridge St. this Saturday.

Miss Le is the founder and has served as Chairwoman of National Asian Women’s Association since 2006. The mission is to empower Asian American women leaders to become highly skilled and effective advocates at the regional and community levels to improve the quality of lives. Its vision is to bridge the gap of promoting a vital need for Asian women who need career opportunity, education, leadership development, cultural awareness through networking, supporting diversity and community services. NAWA membership will fully support its missions to raise the exposure and awareness of NAWA in the Asian community.

Amanda Le previously worked as Director of Asian Services of Quincy Medical Center in Quincy, Massachusetts for nine years. She participated as a member of committees whose focus on helping the Asian community, including serving as a board member of the Immigrants and Refugees Committee in Quincy as well as a board of the Mass Vietnamese Women’s League, Advice board of American Cancer Society leadership member of the National Asian Women’s Health Organization in Washington D.C. She was one of two
Massachusetts Representatives who participated the first national leadership training conference in Washington D.C. and White House in 1998.

Amanda Le is a person who is always willing to expend a helping to people in need. With her excellent knowledge and professional skills including proficiency in a number of Asian languages as well as her commitment and dedication.
