    On March 4, a grand New Year Banquet by Chinese Freemason Association was held at Empire Garden in Boston Chinatown, and more than 500 members and guests enjoyed an evening of delicious food and wonderful performances.

  • 威斯伍中文学校春节联欢 “欢天喜地过大年”

    3月17日对于平常人只是一个平常的日子，但对麻州的威斯伍（Westwood）小镇的威斯伍中文学校却是不同的。他们在威斯伍高中漂亮的大礼堂迎来了第三届中国新年庆祝会。

    一早，学校义工与家长代表们忙碌的准备食物和妆点学校礼堂。各班的老师们也忙着给班上的小朋友们穿戴演出的服装。校长金云璐介绍了全体校务人员，老师及助教后，中国新年庆祝节目在十点正式开幕。节目由校董刘再强和助教蔡鸣琴共同主持。

  • A Celebration of History and Diversity — Pictures and Video from Dance around the World at Lexington High School

    Lexington, Mass., March 19, 2013, (bostonese.com) — As part of the Lexington 300th Incorporation Weekend activities, the one-of-a-kind Dance around the World was held on March 16, 2013 at Lexington High School from 6:00-10:30 PM. The evening was packed with exciting segments. There were Classical/Folk dance performances where people could learn and practice some new dance moves from around the world. It was then followed by a high energy, DJ led dance party. LHS students led some of the popular dances. There was also a unique fusion dance that highlights how music bridges across cultures. There were cultural booths from local diverse communities, and attendees were able to enjoy delicious ethnic food.

  • 美国移民局对2014年度H-1B配额使用情况的预测

    美国移民局根据来自各方面情况的汇总，已经于3月15日对2014年H-1B配额使用情况做出预测： 2014年65,000 个H-1B配额及20,000个用于在美取得硕士或以上学历H-1B申请的高学历配额将在4月份的头五个工作日用完，并且不排除移民局收到的申请总数超出法律所规定的85,000个名额。如果一旦移民局收到超出配额限制的85,000份申请，移民局将会启动H-1B配额申请随机抽签的机制。移民局在在2008年H-1B配额案件申请中启动过随机抽签机制。

  • Lang Lang’s BSO Debut Draws Sellout Crowd

    Boston, March 8, 2013, — On the evening of March 1, we were invited to the Akiko Shirake Dynner Memorial Concert at Boston Symphony Hall. Guest pianist Lang Lang made his Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) debut by performing Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 with BSO. This was one of Lang Lang debut performances on February 28, March 1 and March 2, each night with many of his fans in the sellout crowd.

  • Predicted Snowstorm Closes Boston Schools and Cancels MCAS Tests on March 19

    Boston, March 18, 2013, — The forecast predicts Boston will be impacted by a strong winter storm tonight and throughout tomorrow morning’s commute. Ice and sleet are set to follow snow and the National Weather Service has warned that tomorrow morning’s commute will be extremely difficult. With that forecast in hand, Mayor Thomas M. Menino today met with his Snow Team and Interim Superintendent of Schools John P. McDonough, and the decision has been made to close schools Tuesday.
