  • HKS Conference Focuses on “The Truly Disadvantaged”, Poverty, Race and Inequality

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Twenty-five years after the publication of Professor William Julius Wilson’s groundbreaking book, “The Truly Disadvantaged: The Inner City, the Underclass, and Public Policy,” Wilson and more than 20 leading social science scholars from throughout the country will gather September 14 at Harvard University.  The one-day conference, organized by Harvard Kennedy School’s (HKS) Malcolm Wiener Center on Social Policy, will focus on the latest thinking on poverty and economic inequality as outlined by Wilson in the afterword of his book’s second edition (The University of Chicago Press, 2012).

  • A Driving Force for a Better Planet – Mr. John D. Liu

    John Dennis Liu is a Chinese American who has lived in China for three decades. In 1981 Mr. Liu helped to open the CBS News bureau in Beijing at the time of normalization of relations between the U.S. and China, staying with CBS News for more than 10 years. He also then worked for Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI Italian Television), Swiss Television (SRG) and Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF German Television).

  • “文化中国·齐鲁风” 亮相剑桥中国文化中心中国文化日

    正值金秋时节，剑桥中国文化中心（CCCC）为弘扬中华文化，促进中美友谊，欢度中秋佳节，为波士顿所有的华人华侨和当地居民搭建一个共同分享的平台，将于9月29日举办“中国文化日”大型活动。这次活动得到了国侨办的大力支持，为此派出了一个专业演出团为我们助阵。

  • 人大波士顿校友会正式成立 杨慧林副校长前来祝贺

    【侨报周末实习记者夏静、特约记者李强波士顿图文报道】 8月30日晚，中国人民大学波士顿校友会在剑桥市的五月花餐厅举办了成立仪式。人大副校长杨慧林特地前来表示祝贺。来自美国、意大利、丹麦、芬兰、爱尔兰、哥斯达黎加等国家的13家由人大承办的孔子学院的中方校长正在波士顿开会，他们同60多位人大校友一同见证了这个具有历史性的时刻。
