    【波士顿双语网2022年1月2日讯】在北京冬奥会即将开幕之际，曾经多次访问波士顿地区的中国重剑名将、中国澳门特区击剑队主教练、冠军国际拉脱维亚国家重剑队领队先生给本网站传来好消息，冠军国际拉脱维亚国家重剑队的青少年健儿在刚刚结束的2021欧洲重剑青年联赛中敢打敢拼进入了半决赛，赛出了水平和风格。

    据介绍，2021欧洲重剑青年联赛12月26日在北欧国家爱莎尼亚的哈普萨卢市如火如荼地激烈开战。本次赛事汇聚了来自德国、爱莎尼亚、拉脱维亚、立陶宛、芬兰、瑞典等欧洲青年重剑精英竞夺锦标。

    冠军国际拉脱维亚国家重剑队的青少年健儿敢打敢拼进入了半决赛，赛出了水平和风格，期待他们在接下来的世界杯等赛事再创佳绩！

    过去一年多来，冠军国际拉脱维亚国家重剑队各个年龄组的运动员们在疫情期间检查训练，并投入到支持当地医疗机构抗疫防疫的工作中，获得各界的好评。

    致公党广州市委会接待拉脱维亚国家重剑队领队龙杰先生一行

    2020年11月11日下午，致公党广州市委会专职副主委岳朝阳、副主委唐忆春等在机关热情接待了首次来访的拉脱维亚国家重剑队领队龙杰先生一行。岳朝阳向龙杰介绍了致公党历史及广州市委会开展海外联谊工作有关情况。龙杰介绍了其在海外任击剑运动教练领队等经历情况，大家围绕有关侨情侨讯、对外联络进行了交流座谈。

    据悉，龙杰曾先后多次获取全国个人及团队重剑冠军，现任冠军国际拉脱维亚国家重剑队领队，是目前第一位中国人担任的欧洲国家队领队。2018年，他带领的A1冠军国际拉脱维亚国家重剑队在立陶宛举行的欧洲杯重剑公开赛，包揽了女重个人赛亚、季军，团体季军，男子重剑团体第四名。龙杰先生2020年被聘为广东击剑协会（常务）副主席，希望把击剑运动普及到幼儿、青少年，进一步推动广东击剑运动的交流和发展，为击剑事业贡献自己的一份力量。

    近年來，台灣半導體晶圓廠製程技術具全球領先地位，整體半導體製造產業鏈完整而且成熟，對於發展各種相關的技術與其應用已有相當成果，而過去十年來，矽光子(Si photonics)製程技術的崛起，以半導體晶圓廠的製程模式，來製作光電子與電路的積體化，可使多功能的光電子應用模組，可積體化於一微小型晶片上，這些技術過去只能在大型載具上使用，如光學桌，而矽光子另外一主要項優勢是，在半導體晶圓廠製程的大量生產下，每晶片所分擔成本低，因此傳統上超高頻寬、高解析度、低耗能與不受電磁干擾的光學訊號處理，可於普遍的民生用品上。

  • State Department Cautions US Citizens International Travel Challenges

    International Travel Challenges During COVID-19 U.S. citizens who choose to travel internationally should be aware that they may face unexpected challenges related to COVID-19 as they attempt to return to the United States or attempt to travel from one overseas location to another.  U.S. citizens who do choose to travel internationally should make contingency plans, as they may have to remain in a foreign country longer than originally planned, which will be at their own expense.  The Department recommends international travel insurance with coverage for COVID-related trip cancellation and medical benefits.  In general, Medicare and Medicaid do not cover overseas medical costs.

    The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs provides country-specific information and advice regarding COVID-19 on each U.S. Embassy’s website.  We update these resources whenever we receive new information, and encourage U.S. citizens to review Travel Advisories and U.S. Embassy COVID-19 information pages before travel. U.S. citizens should also enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for regular updates and follow TravelGov on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

    Before boarding a flight to the U.S., all air travelers aged two and older, regardless of nationality or vaccination status, are required to show documentation of a negative viral test result taken within one day of the flight’s departure to the United States, or documentation of recovery from COVID-19.  This includes U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents (LPRs).

    In addition, some countries have imposed other travel requirements. These may include quarantine on arrival, mandatory COVID-19 testing requirements, proof of vaccination, travel restrictions, and closed borders. Some countries have also imposed travel restrictions requiring mandatory quarantine for those testing positive on departure, which could delay a traveler’s ability to travel to another country. Foreign governments in any country may implement restrictions with little notice.

    U.S. citizens planning to travel overseas or currently overseas and planning to return to the United States should also contact their airline for specific information about testing requirements for travelers. Airlines may adopt and modify their own specific policies to implement the CDC’s testing rule.

  • Mayor Wu and Others Congratulate the Grand Opening of American Academy of World Music


    Weston, Mass, Dec. 20, 2021, — The grand opening ceremony of American Academy of World Music (AAWM) was held at the historical Henderson House in Weston on Dec. 18. Many famous musicians in the greater Boston Area and community leaders attended this event. Boston Mayor and many distinguished guests from around the world offered their congratulations via a video clip below.

    “Congratulations to American Academy of World Music. We are so excited to see the new opportunities for culture and bringing the communities together that you represent, to pass on to the next generation. Thanks to everything you are doing!” said Mayor Wu in the video.

    “My name is Yazhi Guo, I am the co-founder and President of The American Academy of World Music (AAWM), It is a new music school that will bring eastern and western music together. On behalf of Gloria Rong and the other co-founders, we are proud to bring you the grand opening of our school. I want to thank those who gave their support from all over the world.” Mr. Guo said during the ceremony.

    Mr. Guo states that AAWM will focus on educating the next generation of musicians, bringing them together. He said: “Boston is a great city with famous colleges such as Harvard University, MIT, Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory of Music. With their rich resources, we can connect artists from the world to build a legacy for the academy. We believe our students will lead the future of world music, and create different styles of music. We also believe that this vision will realize our dream of global unity and world peace.”

    Beatrice Lee, a well known reporter for local Chinese newspapers at 90-year-young, attended the grand opening ceremony while still recovering from a fall at home. She has long been a fan of Mr. Yazhi Guo and Ms. Tao He, and wished great success for AAWM in her brief remarks.

    Mr. Yazhi Guo and students performed an original song Nice to Meet You at the ceremony. The Chinese instrument hulusi used for this song was re-invented by Mr. Guo so that it has much more range than the traditional hulusi. Mr. Guo also made improvement to the suona instrument. Mr. Guo has been called an innovator of Chinese instruments, and his new mission now is to introduce innovation to music by bringing together the best genres of music from all over the world at American Academy of World Music.
