  • IRS reminds car dealers and sellers to be aware of phishing scams

    Washington, D.C., July 11, 2024 — The Internal Revenue Service would like to remind car dealers and sellers to be aware of evolving phishing and smishing scams that could impact day-to-day operations of the business.

    In light of the recent ransomware attack aimed at car dealers, the IRS is warning individuals and businesses to remain vigilant against these attacks. Fraudsters and identity thieves attempt to trick the recipient into clicking a suspicious link, filling out personal and financial information or downloading a malware file onto their computer.

  • ENB leads Statewide Convening on Providing English Language Learning Opportunities to Newly Arrived Migrants

    Boston, December 8, 2023 – As leader of Greater Boston’s ESOL system, and statewide convener across adult education and workforce development sectors, ENB, in partnership with the MA Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, invited ESOL and ABE providers and other community leaders across the state who are working with new arrivals to a Statewide Convening on Providing English Language Learning Opportunities to Newly Arrived Migrants. Prior to the convening, ENB conducted a survey that yielded responses from 163 individuals across 99 organizations.

    SECRETARY BLINKEN:  Well, good evening, everyone.  Good to see you all.  So earlier this year in South Africa, I had an opportunity to set out the administration’s Strategy for Africa.  And at its core, it really can be distilled to a single word, and that word is partnership.  The reality is that the United States and African nations cannot deliver on any of the fundamental aspirations of our people – we can’t solve any of the big challenges that we face – if we don’t work together.  So our approach is about what America can do with African nations and people, not for them.  And that’s what this summit, the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, has really been all about.

  • Mayor Wu Announces Inclusive Growth Strategy: Increasing Funds for Affordable Housing, Speeding Development Approvals

    BOSTON – Thursday, December 15, 2022 – Mayor Michelle Wu today announced a set of proposals to make substantial changes to Inclusionary Development Policy (IDP) and the commercial Linkage Policy that will enable Boston to support its growing population and ensure the city is a place where families of all income levels can afford to live. These changes will increase Boston’s supply of affordable housing while maintaining the City’s position as an attractive market for real estate development. Mayor Wu’s strategy for inclusive growth will lower barriers to development and create a more predictable development timeline. Together, the package of actions will enable development that allows the city to grow equitably and inclusively.

  • Tickets for Taiwan Film Festival of Boston On Sale Now!

    BOSTON, Sept. 18, 2022 – The Fourth Taiwan Film Festival of Boston (TFFB) will take place on October 1-2 2022 at AMC Boston Common. The theme of this year’s film festival is “Crack and Light”, and it curates six long films, including “Listen Before You Sing”, “Eagle Hand” and “Let the Wind Carry Me”, and two short documentaries. Amongst the film selections, three directors will represent their films and join the festival in-person for post-screening forums.

  • Congresswoman Grace Meng Delivers Powerful Speech at UCA National Convention

    Washington, DC, July 15, 2022, — In the morning of July 15, Congresswoman Grace Meng delivered a keynote speech at 2022 United Chinese Americans(UCA) National Convention. She reflected her journey of becoming one of the first few Asian Congresswomen and encouraged attendees to remain united in the fight for racial justice and against anti-Asian hate crimes.

    Meng also greeted attendees of UCA Youth Convention on the stairs of UC Capital during the convention. She praised UCA for providing Asian youth leaders this great opportunity for civil engagement.
