This hearing addressed the frequent retaliatory inspections faced by the “Hong Kong City” restaurant within the jurisdiction of the local health department, which was forcibly shut down on July 31 of this year. The hearing involved a presentation of evidence and debates from both sides.

Latest updates from Cathay Pacific on A350 Engine Inspection
Hong Kong, Sept. 3, 2024, — Cathay Pacific advises that the maintenance activity on our A350 fleet is progressing well. Our engineering team have thoroughly inspected our fleet of operational A350 aircraft within 24 hours. In total, we have identified 15 aircraft with affected engine components that require replacement and three have already gone through successful repairs. The remaining aircraft will continue to be out of service until they have been repaired and cleared for operation. We expect that all affected aircraft will resume operations by Saturday (7 September).

Most retail items of up to $2,500, purchased in Massachusetts for personal use on these two days, will be exempt from sales tax.

Senator Markey and Aquarium staff release five rehabilitated turtles into ocean waters off Cape Cod
BOSTON, MASS. (August 6, 2024) – With the help of New England Aquarium sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation staff and Senator Edward J. Markey, five endangered and threatened sea turtles are back in ocean waters off Cape Cod after fully recovering from their life-threatening injuries.
These turtles spent several months at the Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Hospital in Quincy, MA, undergoing treatment for hypothermia-related conditions including pneumonia, dehydration, and emaciation, all results of being unable to regulate their body temperature in the cold waters of Cape Cod Bay last fall and winter. After physical examinations, staff veterinarians cleared the sea turtles to return to Nantucket Sound off West Dennis Beach.

IRS reminds car dealers and sellers to be aware of phishing scams
Washington, D.C., July 11, 2024 — The Internal Revenue Service would like to remind car dealers and sellers to be aware of evolving phishing and smishing scams that could impact day-to-day operations of the business.
In light of the recent ransomware attack aimed at car dealers, the IRS is warning individuals and businesses to remain vigilant against these attacks. Fraudsters and identity thieves attempt to trick the recipient into clicking a suspicious link, filling out personal and financial information or downloading a malware file onto their computer.
