Boston, Sept. 5, 2024, — The 14th Asian American Day Festival, sponsored by Blue Ocean Realty, will be held on September 7 in Boston Common. The festival focuses on “diversity” and “harmony,” aiming to promote integration among Asian American communities and community development. The event will feature exciting performances, delicious food, and exhibitions, creating a vibrant celebration for the Asian American community.
This marks Blue Ocean Realty’s third consecutive year supporting the Asian American Day Festival, demonstrating their commitment to the Asian American community and cultural diversity, while providing participants with a platform to share their cultural heritage.
The Opening Parade(Start Time:10:00 AM)
The performance by the New England Kung Fu Dance Association serves as a warm-up for the parade event. All participating teams are now heading to the main stage to prepare for the parade lineup!
The spirit and purpose of this event have been recognized by Mayor Michelle Wu and several Boston City Council members. The parade will commence at 10 AM, featuring special guests and partners, and will conclude in front of the stage at Boston Common. Boston firefighters and police officers along with 40+ community organizations will join the parade.
After the parade, a group photo session will be organized to capture the memorable moments of all participants. Following that, the national anthem will be led by Boston Eastern Heritage Chorus, along with solo performances by Mirabel Pan Weston and James Yeh. The event will officially commence with an address from our distinguished guest speaker.
The national anthem will be performed by Boston Eastern Heritage Chorus, one of the oldest Chinese choirs in the Greater Boston area. Founded in 2000, it currently boasts approximately 70 members from various professional backgrounds. Under the leadership of current choir director Zhang Qiang and artistic director/pianist Guo Ling, Boston Eastern Heritage Chorus, along with members from sister choirs, will present the beloved songs “O Sole Mio” and “Jasmine Flower,” which were well-received at this year’s choral festival in Italy, in celebration of the 14th Asian American Festival!
