  • BU Student Lingzi Lu Still Missing after Watching 2013 Boston Marathon, Team BCNC Safe Home

    Boston, April 16, 2013, — A warm and breezy spring afternoon turned into nightmare for two international students from China. Both female students are from Boston University, and wanted to cheer on the runners as they crossing the finish line. One of the students was seriously injuried by one of the bombs yesterday afternoon near Boston Marathon finish line, and is currently being treated at a local hospital. Lingzi Lu (pictured below) is still missing as of 10:36 AM today.

  • Two Bombs Rock 117th Boston Marathon

    Boston, April 15, 2013, — Around 2:50 PM this afternoon, just near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon, there were two big explosions interrupted the 117th running of the world-famous marathon race. According to preliminary reports, there were at least three people dead and over 100 people injured, many seriously.

    Robbery & Larceny in Chinatown (two incidents)


    On Tuesday, 04/02/2013, Boston Police District A-1 Police Officers filed a police report for the victim who is a middle aged Asian woman who speaks only Mandarin. The victim stated that she was approached by three Asian female suspects who stated that they needed money to help the victim’s sick daughter. The victim believed the suspects. She went to the bank and withdrew an undisclosed amount of money and gave the money to the suspects. The victim then became disoriented as the suspects left the area. All three Asian female suspects were described as being from early to late thirties in age, black hair, brown eyes, five feet to five feet 2 inches tall with slim builds. There was no clothing description given.

  • Petition Drive Started Urging IOC Not to Select Tokyo to Host the 2020 Summer Olympics

    During WWII, more than 200,000 women and girls were forced into sexual slavery (so-called “comfort women”) by the Japanese Imperial Army. During approximately a six-week period starting on December 13, 1937, about 300,000 Chinese (including many women and children) were slaughtered and about 20,000 women and girls were raped in the city of Nanking alone. During WWII, thousands of chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction were deployed in more than a dozen provinces in China killing more than hundreds of thousands of Chinese, and permanently maiming many more.

  • Pictures from Last Week of 2012-2013 BCTC Winter Tennis League

    In the evening of April 5, 2013, 40 players of the BCTC Winter Doubles Tennis League played their 20th week of games for the winter season at Woburn Racquet Club (WRC). Like in the past, some single matches were played from L1 to L10 for the last week. A end-of-season party was held in the club house of the WRC.
