    Boston, May 7, 2013, — You may have heard of the Silk Road that connected China and Mediterranean centuries ago. Suzhou Embroidery, probably the best artwork that can be made from silk, is known for its beautiful patterns, elegant colors, variety of stitches, and consummate craftsmanship. A grand dance drama The Embroidery Girl (or Xiu Niang) is coming to Boston in less than three weeks.

  • Soprano Wanzhe Zhang’s Recital at NEC Featured Beautiful Songs in Five Languages

    Boston, May 1, 2013, — Graduate Diploma recital by Wanzhe Zhang, student of Karen Holvik, was held at New England Conservatory in the afternoon of April 28. Ms. Zhang performed a dozen beautiful songs in five languages with Damien Francoeur-Krzyzek, piano, and Quan Yuan, violin for about 40 family members, friends and her students.

  • Tian Qingxin Art Exhibition at UMass Boston Showcases Ancient Chinese Oracle Script Calligraphy

    Boston, April 7, 2013, — Tian Qingxin, a well-known Chinese traditional calligraphy artist and painter, held an art exhibition at UMass Boston today. This exhibition was sponsored by University of Massachusetts Confucius Institute. About 40 amazing art works were on display and drew rave reviews from the audience.

  • Angel Dance Company Brings Splendid Colors to Boston’s Spring

    Weston, Mass. — Angle Dance Company presented a brand new show Colors from the East on March 24 at Regis College. “Am I at Boston Flower and Garden show or at a dance show?” I asked myself at moments. The colorful costumes combined with modern lighting equipment used during the performance brought wonderful visual effect that wowed about 500 people in the audience. Many of them saw a live Chinese traditional dance show for the first time and enjoyed a fabulous evening.

  • First Art Exhibition by NAAA in Boston Chinatown Draws Rave Reviews

    The first ever Chinese calligraphy and photography exhibition by North America Artist Association (NAAA) was held from March 9 to 12 at East West Bank in Boston Chinatown. The four-day exhibition drew thousands of spectators and rave reviews from professional artists and art enthusiasts alike.

  • Lang Lang’s BSO Debut Draws Sellout Crowd

    Boston, March 8, 2013, — On the evening of March 1, we were invited to the Akiko Shirake Dynner Memorial Concert at Boston Symphony Hall. Guest pianist Lang Lang made his Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) debut by performing Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 with BSO. This was one of Lang Lang debut performances on February 28, March 1 and March 2, each night with many of his fans in the sellout crowd.

  • Dance around the World Headlines More Than 30 Weekend Events in Lexington, March 16-17

    Lexington, Mass., March 18, 2013, (bostonese.com) — This past weekend, Lexington celebrated the 300th anniversary of incorporation with an exciting program of over 30 events. Dance around the World(DAW) was held on Saturday evening at Lexington High School. Over 1,000 residents showed up to enjoy different styles of dance and music, and more than 100 dancers, cultural booth demonstrators and food vendors showcased their cultures during the occasion.
