  • Aerosmith Cancels Debut Performance in China Due to Poor Ticket Sales

    Legendary rock band Aerosmith have been forced to cancel their Shanghai and Taipei gigs due to a local promoter’s inability to meet contractual obligations.

    “It is with sincere regret that Aerosmith has announced that it must cancel two previously scheduled festival gigs,” the band wrote in a statement on their official website. The two gigs were originally scheduled on Aug. 21 in Shanghai and Aug. 24 in Taipei.

  • “Chinese Culture Land” Brings China’s Top Talents to Boston on Sept. 15

    Boston, August, 12, 2013, — The 2013 Talented Youth Troupe, a group of brilliant, young artists carefully selected by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of China State Council, will perform a show called “Chinese Culture Land” to audiences in Boston and Washington, DC to promote better understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.  It features Chinese folk songs and dances, Chinese traditional opera, marshal arts, and magic.

  • ACDC Announces Films at the Gate, September 13-15

    Boston, MA, August 5, 2013 – Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) hosts its 8th annual Films at the Gate from Friday to Sunday, September 13-15 at Chinatown Park beside the Gate on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. This is a free, outdoor film festival showcasing family-friendly kung fu films. Each evening begins at 7:00 PM with cultural performances and an 8pm start for the feature film.

  • Winners of Talent Contest of New England Youths Compete for Grand Prize at Banquet of NAWA of Mass.

    Boston, July 5, 2013, –The Seventh Anniversary Celebrating Banquet of National Asian Women’s Association (NAWA) of Massachusetts was held at Quincy China Pearl Restaurant in the evening of June 30, 2013. About 300 guests attended this banquet, including state Rep. Tackey Chan and Hung Goon, a representative for Malden Mayor Gary Christensen. First place winners of the inaugural Talent Contest of New England Youths competed for $300 cash prize.

  • As Boston Bruins Takes 2:1 Stanley Cup Finals Lead, Larry Kwong Celebrates 90th Birthday

    Boston, June 19, 2013, — Boston Bruins outplayed visiting Chicago Blackhawks in game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals Monday night at TD Garden. The 2:0 victory gives Boston 2:1 series lead. On the same day, the first person of Asian ancestry to play in the National Hockey League (NHL), Chinese Canadian Larry Kwong celebrated his 90th birthday. On June 8, 2013, over 200 people showed up for a birthday party for Mr. Kwong in a restaurant in Calgary.

More than 400 Chinese music lovers enjoyed an evening of beautiful traditional and innovative Chinese music by talented young students and their teachers.
