  • Talented Young Students from China To Perform at Lexington Town Hall Auditorium

    In order to promote Chinese culture and cultural exchange between China and the global community, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of China’s State Council has carefully selected 20 outstanding, talented students from China and formed Chinese Culture Land – Talented Juvenile Troupe. The troupe will perform spectacular Chinese folk dances and songs, martial arts, and acrobatics among others for local young Chinese and non-Chinese audiences.

  • Focal Chinese Music To Re-Open Melrose’s 116-year-old Corinthian Hall

    MELROSE, MA – Starting June 10, 2012, Focal Chinese Music Corp. (FCM), a music education and performing arts company will re-open and manage Melrose’s 116-year-old Corinthian Hall. Currently owned by Melrosian Stephen Longmuir, Corinthian Hall, with its 1900s interior preserved and restored, will serve as FCM’s headquarters.

  • GBAAYSO To Present The Bufferfly Lover Concert at Lexington High on June 16

    After the first public concert at National Heritage Museum in Lexington, Mass. in December 2011, the Asian Cultural Center Greater Boston Asian-American Youth Symphony Orchestra (GBAAYSO) has been active in local communities. A number of charity concerts have been presented by GBAAYSO at senior centers and other venues in Lexington and Waltham, including a Food for Music concert in Lexington on April 15 that raised about $2,000 for Lexington Food Bank.

  • Boston Erhu Ensemble To Delight Chinese Music Fans on June 2

    On Saturday, June 2, Boston Erhu Ensemble will present a Chinese music concert at the First United Methodist Church, (645 Main St.), in Melrose at 7 PM. This concert will feature both traditional Chinese folk songs as well as arrangements of contemporary music pieces, and bring joy to many traditional Chinese music lovers in the greater Boston area.

  • Young Asian Performaners to Compete at Kollaboration Boston’s Second Annual Show

    Kollaboration Boston is proud to present the city’s second Asian American talent show competition featuring its final contestants, who will compete for $1,000 prize during its inaugural event on Saturday, April 21, 2012. As a continuous celebration of Asian American talent, Kollaboration Boston is honored to once again seek to inspire Asian Americans in their pursuit of talent in development in the arts.

    PK, founder and executive director of Kollaboration said, “Kollaboration’s underlying mission is Empowerment Through Entertainment. Artistic expression through entertainment is one of the most powerful forces on earth and one of the greatest ways we can build our community, and understand both ourselves and other communities in a healthy, positive way.”

    The April 21 show will be taken place at the John Hancock Hall, located at 180 Berkeley Street Boston, MA 02116. Our team of passionate, young professionals and students from Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, Northeastern, MIT, Wellesley, Suffolk, and has come together to once again to gain exposure of the Asian American entertainment industry.

    The Kollaboration Boston 2 talent show will feature its seven local talents CONcept Artists, UPRising, Fusion, Justin Chiou, K-Soul, Andy Kim, and Yui Mugino will compete with their vocal, instrumental, and dance talents for the winning title and the $1,000 grand prize.

    With a mission of Empowerment through Entertainment, Kollaboration Boston has mobilized the Asian American community since its November 2010 launch and will continue to do so through its second show in Boston on April 21, 2012 at John Hancock Hall located at 180 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA 02116. Kollaboration Boston is part of a national movement headquartered in LA that seeks to bring Asian American talent into mainstream media and thereby raise awareness of Asian American issues. The Kollaboration movement has caught fire in 11 different cities: Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Washington DC, New York City, Tulsa, Houston, Columbus, San Francisco, Toronto, with shows selling out year after year. Boston is the 12th city to join the national Kollaboration movement.

  • Ying Wu’s Vocal Classes Celebrated Year of Dragon with Beautiful Songs

    On the afternoon and evening of January 28, Ying Wu’s vocal classes held a Chinese New Year’s concert in Hancock United Church of Christ in Lexington, Mass.

    As a special guest, Kristy Lee, New England’s only 24-hour news TV station NECN’s morning news anchor, hosted the concert. The daughter of the Korean-American anchor is also a student of Ms. Ying Wu. Piano accompaniment was by Boston’s renowned pianist David Collins.
