  • Whole Foods and Roche Bros. Receive Award at CPA Banquet

    Boston, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Investor sentiment has reached its highest level since the inception of the John Hancock Investor Sentiment Survey five years ago, rising to +28 in the first quarter of 2015 from a score of +22 in the first quarter of 2011.   • Captain of Germanwings Flight Might Have Used Axe to Break into Cockpit

    Paris, March 27, 2015, — Andreas Lubitz, the Germanwings co-pilot, appeared to have locked the captain out of the cockpit, French officials said, before crashing the plane on Tuesday.

    The cockpit flight recorder, recovered from the crash site, showed that the captain repeatedly knocked and tried to get back in as the plane went into its fatal descent, French prosecutors said.

  • MBTA to Shutdown Weekend Service of Fitchburg Line for Six Months

    Boston, March 26, 2014, — Beginning Saturday, April 25, through Sunday, November 11, weekend Fitchburg Line service will be suspended along the entire line due to the Fitchburg Commuter Rail Line Improvement Project. Busing will not be provided during weekend service interruptions. Customers are advised to seek alternate modes of transportation. Weekday service is not affected by the ongoing improvement work.

  • Boston City Councilors File Paid Parental Leave Ordinance

    BOSTON – Boston City Councilors Michelle Wu (At-Large), Tim McCarthy (District 5), and Tito Jackson (District 7) will introduce an ordinance relative to paid parental leave at the Boston City Council Meeting on March 25th. This ordinance, filed today, has the full support of Mayor Martin J. Walsh, who collaborated with the Council on this policy.
